He seems to be getting back to his best ....
He seems fit, revitalised and really wanting to play ...
He was 31 this year and with a man of his build he could play the game for a few more years yet ... Bar injuries i'd say till around 35?
Only question is will his body hold up? And for how long?
Cheers

If his knee holds up he can play for another 3 years or so. While it would appear that the debilitating effects of his knee injuries should see him out of the game earlier rather than later, I look at it another way. His body as a whole hasn't taken a whole lot of punishment, and bar his knee would be akin to a 28 year old footballer. He also didn't appear on the senior scene very young so hasn't had as much exposure to the rigours of senior football as some. Doesn't have back problems, stress fractures, shoulder injuries etc so it is ALL dependent on that knee.
Another major injury will see him out at the end of his current contract however.
unless i'm mistaken, he's contracted for 2005 and 2006. I would have thought that'd be the end for him, the body has taken a fair bit. It might depend on how we are travelling, if we've improved significatnly and 2007 has a lure of a possible Grannie, then he might carry on for one more.

He should keep playing for as long as he feels he can keep playing like he did against Melbourne on the weekend. We are seeing nowadays that athletes can continue to be very competitive well into their 30's provide they are able to look after the body's. If his body holds up, I see no reason for him not to stay on for another couple of years.

If he gets injured next season, that will be his last year.
If he doesn't, he should go on for another 2 - 3 years, until he is about 33-34. That might even be a bit optimistic.
he needs to work on knocking out a couple more mini-koutas. Imagine 20 years time. Having 3 kouta's, four SOSs and five diesels. that's a groin grabbing list.

We should have deisel have kids with jana pittman (i hate her but she's the only athlete i can think of) ... Then we'd get an athlete who's got freakey skills!! A perfect footballer!!

The images of their female child (Jana's body, Dielsels head) not only seems horrific, but hilarious. :D :D

in this time he can take walker under his wing and mould him as the new kouta ;)

As we all know Kouta is a very good athlete. He wont go on past 2006, and therefore id say next year will be his econd last year. The year 2006 will be Koutas last year.
