i would like them at the blues ...
im sure eade will be interested in lance whitnall to fill a key fwd post ...
what du guys think of the trade of these two blokes for lance ...
lance only needs to stay fit and he'll be a gun ... not sure if denis will get rid of him tho ... only for a quality trade.
but remember this: u guys need a key fwd, rawlings is not that, lance is, we have fevola, we need pace in the midfield, what du think of the trade?

I am sure Eade would not be interested by Whitnall.
If Lance is such a fwd why don't you want him? Go and harvest your own midfield.
Both guys you are suggesting here have been long term projects and both are starting develop into 200 gamers. SO I doubt that we will even consider swapping them in any deal for a guy with a massive question mark against him....not to mention a massive salary price tag....
Thanks for thinking of us but no thanks....

Guido would be close to untouchable (local boy) and isnt really what you would call a lightning fast midfielder anyway. McMahon will realise his potential one day and is lightning fast and of all our midfielders would probably have the most trade currency and is not irreplacable.
Whitnall isnt as attractive trade bait as he should be anyhow simply because his contract is backended and comes into the big dollars this year. If Carlton was looking to offload him they may have to consider paying some of his wages next year and take a lesser player/draft pick because of it. There are whispers circulating that he is Whitten Oval bound.

I dont think Guido would be up for trade. He is one of those players who has shown continual incremental improvement each year.
Macmahon may be tradable depending on who we intend to select in the draft. i.e. if we picked up tambling, then maybe.
But if Whitnalls contract is huge, remember, this is the dogs. we cant afford it. youwould have to foot a fair whack of it for us to even consider such a trade.
I might go for reducing whitnals wage to $300K, in return for macmahon and our pick 21ish.

Whitnal for our 2nd round draft pick.
Incentive based contract - $250k cap
Blues pick up remainder....we'd look at it !

Like all the workers in a Pat Pong Rd bar, everyone's up for trade with the right deal.
Eade has the most power now, and nothing would surprise me.
Having said that, I don't think that big Lance is what we require.
Now that Tarrant rumour is another matter....

Giansiracusa will be retained and is under cntract. He will be a gun player in the near future.
He didn't say BOTH of them for Whitnall did he?

I find it hard to believe that posters on this site would actually consider Whitnall for a trade. He is OVERsized, OVERrated, OVERpriced and a complete hack.
Just been on the Blues board on this very subject, and the thought that they want a direct swap for Guido and McMahon is hysterical. Someone even suggested that we would have to give up pick 6 for him.
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!!!!
We don't need him. He better not end up @ Whitten Oval for a LOW pick or a young player.............

Its only Whitnalls price and his injuries that scares me off.I think he is probably in the best 3 or 4 CHFs going around when he can string some games together.Giansiracusa and Mcmahon is to much to pay when you have put 4 and 5 years into them respectively especially given Whitnall is far from a sure bet given his injuries.
I'd give up McMahon for Whitnall (sorry Doc) but nothing more. Even that would be a gamble but one worth taking in my view.
Carlton would need to fund a significant chunk as his reported contract is ridiculous for a player who may never reach his previous form again.
Guido would be a crazy trade.

Can Whitnall play FF or is he one of those types that needs space and a long lead? If the fat guy muscled up, it would be nice to have a proper spearhead at FF.
We already have bowdo, rawlings and bandy to run around half forward on a lead.

I would not have thought Rocket would offload either of those two for Whitnall. I dont think Rocket will look to trade any of our young group
If Whitnall leaves Carlton IMO Giansiracusa or McMahon are too much to give up for him.
He could be a worthwhile punt if you gave up very little, but he is too fat and doesn't really show any signs of wanting to look after himself.
At the moment he looks washed up and too slow to play as a forward in the modern game (ie at telstra dome)
