Tigers Give Themselves Best Possible Chance.

What seemed like disaster brewing for Richmond’s draft chances this afternoon at the MCG was staved off by a rejuvenated pathetic performance from the Tigers. When the Tigers led late in the first quarter things were looking bad for the Tigers but after a spirited quarter time talk from Danny Frawley the team managed to fail to score a goal in the second quarter, and only scored two more goals for the match, paving the way for a huge loss that almost guarantees them the wooden spoon and the first pick in the National Draft. ‘I just told the boys that it wasn’t good enough’ Frawley said. ‘There was just too much direct footy happening. I told them that Richo needed to have two Swans on him and they duly responded by allowing Leo Barry to play loose in front of him’.

Daniel Jackson for the Tigers is tackled by Sydney's Michael O'Loughlin at the MCG. 'Could have allowed Mickey to get a couple more' according to Frawley.

Frawley singled out the performance of Matthew Richardson. ‘Do you know how hard it is to miss from 15 meters out, what a really bad kick! Richo really gave his all, and then to wheel around from 50 out not 10 seconds later and miss again, it was a really special moment’. When asked about Brent Hartigan and first gamer Andrew Raines he was guarded. ‘Look Harters is young and he will learn not to try so hard. Rainesy will probably need more time to develop, it’s only his first game so he will have to be told to pull his head in and turn the ball over a bit more’.
Frawley was relieved however that the club seems sure to pull off the wooden spoon. ‘Yeah after round eight and we had won four games it was looking doubtful, but I knew if we tried really hard we could lose 14 straight and now we have managed to do that, but I had to ask Richo to stop kicking so straight’. The Tigers also had to gamble with playing Darren Gaspar in the seniors despite abysmal form, 'if he had regained some form we would have been stuffed' said Frawley, 'it was great to be able to rely on a defender to get towelled up every week'. The decision to play Gaspar along with the inclusions of Billy Nicholls, Ben Marsh and Adam Houlihan, is being lauded as a masterstroke, The Tigers will win the spoon unless the Hawks get the mother of all beltings at Geelong tomorrow. ‘It’s out of our hands now, but we have given ourselves the best possible chance’ Frawley said.

LMAO

Though the article forgot to mention the masterstroke the brains trust made leaving Gasper in the side , that was a gem . Real reward for effort . Enough to make the young blokes in the twos stop trying as well
