Is it true that if Stkilda thrash Fremantle and we lose lose narrowly to the bulldogs we still make the finals...????
Becuase if it is, we're in a really good position

Yep. Check the ladder. Freo's percentage is less than 1% better than ours, but we're on equal points, so if they get done, and we don't get thrashed (or lose by a couple of goals less than they do), we'll get in on percentage.
We've been handed an 'easy' last round, and we are in a good position to make the 8, but what will we do with it once we're there? We don't really deserve it.

We can afford to lose to the Doggies by like 17 points or under tommorow and still make the finals, but in reality we should win to actually EARN a spot in the finals.

Point taken. And I'd much rather be in the finals than not in them at all. But given our poor form in the second half of the season, I feel we're pretty lucky to still be in with a shot.
And we get to play a team (melbourne) that has just travelled to perth and has been losing recently. So put your money on port to beat the crows and lose the first final.

We can actually afford to lose by 22 points tommorow, but won't it be a sad and pathetic way to enter the finals after a loss to the Doggies...
Just did some calculations and if the bulldogs beat us by 23 or more than we will be knocked out of the 8 by percentage. We can't be knocked out for any less than a 23 point loss unless it's an unusually high scoring game (ie 200 points to their 222).
