Last night at 10.30pm,ch7 ran an encore screening of Forensic Investigations, which originally aired at 9.30pm last wednesday.

The voice-over guy said it was "by popular demand" .

That's clearly a lie,as the show was listed in the TV Week, which came out 2 days before the the show aired the first time.

You're assuming that "popular demand" refers to us plebs. Maybe they did a quick hands-up poll of the 8 people in the office at that moment and bya vote of 7-1 they went for the rescreening. Maybe the Channel 7 programmers have taken talking in the 3rd person to a new level and have begun to think of themselves as 'everyone'.

I will never understand why they don't show The Mole and The Amazing Race in a suitable timeslot for more than 3 weeks.

They are two shows that, if given a go, would do well for them.

They have no idea.

They did have a priority pick.
They picked up Daryl Somers to host a rip off of Strictly Dancing, but this one has celebrities involved. That's if you can call Pauline Hanson, Matt Shirvington and a couple of bogans from Home and Away celebrities.

Mind you it's not Seven's fault Richard Wilkins was still under contract.

Maybe people were demanding real life murder shows and this is the outcome.

The good thing about TAR and its overseas ilk is that stations are far more willing to bury them in late night slots than local productions, which must either hit new heights or are too much of an investment to maintain and get dropped completely. The Mole reigned supreme in its first two seasons in the Wed 7:30 slot but when season 3 didn't rate so well, season 4 became the sacrificial lamb against The Block and I doubt it will be seen for several years, if ever again.

(and fwiw, at the time of TAR season 5's debut in the US, Seven had not bought the rights to it  )

Now they've all disappeared.

Yep, they only get on top 2 weeks every four years, now that SBS is in the running with the Olympics Seven might lose more ratings.

Molly back on the box
September 10, 2004

WELCOME back, Molly, it's been too long since you've had your own show.
Meldrum filmed the pilot to his new live variety show, called Mollywood, on Wednesday night at Channel 7. And it shows Molly at his best - sitting behind a desk on a set much like David Letterman's.

The show features two sidekicks - Foxtel Footy reporter Tiffany Cherry and Amber Petty.

Petty was Mary Donaldson's bridesmaid at her wedding to Denmark's Prince Frederik.

If the show gets the green light, Petty will report on fashion and red-carpet events, and Cherry will focus on sport and light entertainment.

After she was introduced by Molly, Petty gave away a few details about the royal wedding and the time Donaldson met the Prince four years ago at the Sydney Olympics.

Molly had a pretty strong line-up of guests, including Kate Ceberano, Nick Giannopoulos, St Kilda's Aaron Hamill and Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy.

Molly's old Countdown mate, Gavin Wood, was in the voiceover box.

If the show does go ahead, it will likely be in a late-night slot.
