Yep, will be a disgrace if he doesn't win it & if Edwards isn't runner-up. I don't think anyone will be biting their nails due to a close finish.

im not sure if "disgrace" is the correct word to use...

its a club best and fairest so whoever wins it is a worthy winner, and how players perform is one of many criteria that the coaching panel use to decide when voting. its no secret that coaches see our players in a different light to us supporters a lot of the time... ;)

having said that, i think your right...Roo will win it, with Edwards second!

Roo is an absolute star of this club...deserves everything he gets and then some! :)

Yes.

If anyone deserves to win one its Edwards. It would really be a pitty if he ends his career without winning B&F in his career. He has certainly been a super player for us over the years.

Disgrace may be a little over-the-top, but even allowing for Tyson's great year, IMO Roo has been our outstanding player & would be a poor reflection on the club's voting if he doesn't win it.

If Tyson plays next year like he did since Craig moved him into the midfield, he could well win an AFC B&F.

I somewhat agree with this sentiment.

However, the award is called "Club Champion", not "Player Consistently Good Without Being Outstanding Enough To Win A B&F In Any Single Given Year" ;)

Perhaps Edwards will do a "Teague" and win through hard work and moral...

But seeing as he and Roo are both midfielders, Roo will clearly win.

In fact, I'll do a very, very scratchy top 10:
1. Mark Riccuito
2. Tyson Edwards
3. Andrew McLeod (From what Craig said, he'll poll well)
4. Ken McGregor
5. Tyson Stenglein
6. Graham Johncock (Was conisistent, just not spectacular)
7. Matthew Clarke
8. Trent Hentschel
9. Wayne Carey
10. Nathan Basset

Like I said, very, very scratchy. Perhaps Welsh should have made top 10 instead of Duck?

Take your point Bokchoy but I reckon "Billy the Bootstudder" would be a show for 5th spot in the B&F the way we've performed this year - and given the very even and unremarkable performances from most of the list
I think Roo - daylight - Edwards/Kenny/Macca - daylight - the rest

Sounds about right. Wayne will poll a fair few votes early, but due to his retirement, will probably not make the top 10. Welsh, our leading goal-kicker, deserves to at least make no.10, if not no.9.

From Craig's comments, it sounds like McLeod will still poll well despite his very indifferent form this year. Agreed though with Kenny taking 3rd place, definitely deserves it after being one of the shining lights this year.

I think it is fair to say both Hentschel & Reilly were our most impressive youngsters this year. Hopefully they can both step up even further next year as both are crucial to our future.

If Port Adelaide Power win the grand final, would channel 9 or 10 have the audacity to televise the crows B & F over there’s. :D

Being serious for a second is the B & F going to be on TV or will this be determined by what happens in the next fortnight with Port.

A question to crow’s supporters.

Is anyone going to be dirty on Tyson Stenglein next season when he is playing with West Coast, ala Nick Stevens? I wont be, haven’t boo KJ and wont be dirty on Tyson either, good luck to him and he will do the right thing by the club as well. :)

The perception is that Nick Stevens and his manager, Max, did their very best to shaft Port Adelaide with their demands - and with all this coming after his abysmal last performance for the Power in the Preliminary Final, there was always going to be enmity there.

As far as Tyson goes, he wanted to go back home to Perth. No different to Kane Johnson wanting to go. The key will be if we get what we consider to be adequate compensation for him.

If we somehow get shafted and end up with a dud pick or a dud player or in the worst-case scenario get nothing at all and have to put Stinger into the draft attitudes towards him may well be mixed on his eventual return in opposition colours.

Yep, as long as we have a Kane Johnson rather than Nick Stevens situation I have no issue with Stinger leaving.

and IF we get Scott Thompson from Melb, we cant exactly Boo Tyson, then "golf" clap Thommo... ;)

As much as i HATE players who wish to move back home, its becoming part of our game (sadly).

It seems player retention isn't just limited to Brisbane or Sydney...

Tyson is no longer an Adelaide player

I think no more or less of him than other opposition players

Booing him would be childish and show that he is bigger than our Club, which he clearly isn't.

I will get stuck into him if he comes over my side at games but that's only what I do with oppostion players every week.

Nope. I have never been dirty on any players that have left us. In fact, quite the opposite - I still keep an eye out for them and hope for them to do well. Admittedly, that attitude would be tested greatly if one of our good players (ie not Hodges, Chalmers or Brown) defected to Port.

As for the Club Champion, I would love to see Tyson Edwards win it. He has been such a great performer for our club for so many years and is such a consistent yet sometimes underrated player that it would be fitting for him to receive such an accolade.

It's unlikely to happen, he will surely finish second. But it would be nice.

People have a right to pick and choice where they are employed, and who they are employed by.

AFL players who return home to be employed in their chosen occupation is a player right and privilege and should not be left to luck or chance. Or hoping an AFL club is generous with the players they offer to swap.

AFL free agency is a must and will benefit all clubs. IMO

Being completely serious...homesickness should not be an issue when you earning the amount of money that these "people" are earning!

Fact is, if "people" want to get anywhere in life in todays society, it can sometimes mean moving away from family and friends (especially earning big $$$)...not just in footy, but in many professions! Some people living overseas away from their family dont have the luxury of some of our footballers in being able to hop on a plane and take a 2 hr flight (sometimes less) to see their loved ones!

We are dealing with adults aren't we???

I agree tho, people do have a choice where they work and live etc etc, and if there are any young footballers who do not wont to live out of their state away from family, choose another profession!

Free Agency will kill off a lot of clubs. some are already struggling to retain players as it is...

arent tickets like $5 to the port one, im being serious and they have it at like the clipsal power house thing and all there supporters go because they can afford too and seem as though they are there they actually show ours because ours is for the snooty rich people who can afford to go!!

also no way i would boo Stinger, he was one of my favourite crows so there is no way im going to boo the man just because her was homesick from WA, i was homesick when overseas and i only went for 3 and 4 weeks respectively:D

I don’t know if it a “boys club “again, sometimes special occasions have to left for coterie sponsor, corporate sponsors and very special guests. I wouldn’t get to bent out of shape about the club champion award not being available for the “general public”.

there are plenty of sponsor nights etc through out the year...(as there are chances for supporters to mingle with AFC Players, and staff etc)

however, the point is, they've allowed supporters to go before, why all of a sudden disallow them now??? it's a question the bird on the switch couldnt even answer...

anyone know if ch 9 are televising it?? its generally not that exciting, but in October, in prime time there is normally bugger all else on anyway..

As for the booing Stinger.....it will never happen by me. He was great for our club so it would be wrong. Have never booed Kane Johnson and actually went to his first few games for the Tiges to cheer him on.
I say no to booing ex players!!!!!!
