After McGrath's first three overs:

Kiwi wit in crowd: " 3 overs, no wickets, 18 runs thank you Glenn"

McGrath "I could almost be a Kiwi"
:D

Certainly fired him up as he took a wicket in his next 3 overs!

Finally a decent gate at an ICC Trophy match, although with so many Aussies and Kiwi's in the Oval, there was absolutely no-one left to serve the beers in pubs right across the capital... ;)

Ponting reckoned that the Aussies were nearly at 100% with that performance, and certainly NZ were a good 80 runs short as it turned out - oh the difference Brett Lee would have made!!

That was Brett Lee's best performance for Australia for some time.

What? He didn't play?

Well, my argument still stands :D

Yeah, but the selectors will do their best to get rid of Shane Watson after he "failed" to take three or four wickets, and get Brett back in that way...

Good to selectors actually picked the best 11 to play.

Lee should not be back in the side. Watson deserves his chance.

And the boys put in a great effort, well done to Kaspa again. Champ!

was a bit annoyed with Shane for misfielding off Dizzy and turning a dot ball into 4. but that's being picky.

and how damn good is kaspa? as i said the other day, for me, he is first pick.

Well done Marto another fine performance with 60 off 71 balls.

Regardless, the knockers will be back soon enough.

Fact remains that he deserved to be dropped at some stage. I see you're from WA.

I see you're from Victoria.

Still pushing that broken down Elliott bandwagon are we?

Aah, no. I'm not as parochial as you. Elliott sent his career backwards somewhat by actually being picked in that test, and no, doesn't deserve a spot at this time.

Martyn does deserve his spot, but again, I reiterate, he should have been dropped at some point. Just as Brett Lee has been justifiably dropped. Yet he may make it back as a regular contributor one day.

He is going very well at the moment, deserves his spot in the team if he keeps playing like that.

But I agree with red+black, there was a time when he most certainly should have been dropped.
