You can virtually discount the 4 matches against Zim/USA as Australia were never going to lose those matches and a certain mental slackness when opening the batting is understandable. And considering one-dayers are stacked onto each other like layers of cake, a mild run of form for an entrenched player isn't a major issue as they'll have plenty of opportunities in the short term to turn it around.
Of greater concern would be his Test form in the last year or so. In his last 17 innings he's gone above 50 only twice and failed to reach double figures on 8 occasions.

In ODI's you dont need every player at their BEST - and you dont get them at their best - hence lower averages than tests. ATM we have others doing well, but I expect a big knock from him very soon!! - v Poms would be real nice!!

Before those string of matches he was in the best ODI form of his life so I am not concerned at all..
In ODI's he is still really a pinch-hitter, if he goes on it's a bonus. And when he ave's 35 - 36 an innings he does pretty well in that spot.
