I'd rather EFC confirm it, but great news if true. Murphy, Allan, Rama the only other 3 ?

McVeigh stays put at Windy Hill
Tuesday, 21 September 2004
Essendon has re-signed 23-year-old midfielder Mark McVeigh on a new two-year deal, putting to an end speculation that he was considering a move back to Sydney to play with his brother Jarrad. McVeigh was one of the shining lights for Essendon in the second half of season 2004 and looks set to play a pivotal role in the midfield in seasons ahead.
"I am thrilled to have the deal done so early and to get the two years. In the past it has been in the best interests of both the club and myself to do one-year deals. The club has really looked after me and I want to repay that faith in the next two seasons and hopefully beyond," McVeigh said today.
"I think they would like me to play more in the midfield so that is exciting. But to do that I have to have a huge pre-season and try and get myself in the top two or three in the running we do. I missed a chunk of last pre-season so I hope things go right this time around and I have the fitness I need come round one."
IN other news at Essendon, Bendigo Bombers coach Peter Banfield has tendered his resignation after spending the past two years at the helm. Banfield did a terrific job this season, leading the Bendigo Bombers into their first finals’ series. The club has now commenced the search for a replacement.

Great news. Will be a vital cog in our midfield. He shows us what so many others at the club need to be doing - busting their guts.
