Someone yesterday placed $2000 on essendon at quarter time, at over $7
so many people were confident essendon would get up at quarter time that we came in from around $7 to about $4
all i can say to the person who collected over $14,000
LUCKY PRICK!!
Well if I had of been offered those odds I probably would have had a little bit on it.
Why? For some reason, I just thought we were gonna win. Even when we were down by 69 points after Grants goal I think, something was telling me that we were gonna come back.
It must just be the Essendon confidence thing.
I dunno - did anyone else feel the same? There is no logical explanation for it, my head was sorta saying - "are you crazy, how can we win?" but something in me was just not giving in.
I dont think I woulda had too much on us at 1/4 time - but definetly something! But I am a punter who always looks for value, even if my head tells me Im crazy.
I remember going to my wallet when Freo were $14 not to win a game this year, before the St.Kilda game, but I hesitated and didnt do it!
Bloody Hell!!

Being a resident of a very remote part of Western Australia I wasn't able to view the game, but I was getting thirty second score updates over the web.
For some strange reason, maybe because I couldn't see the action, I wasn't concerned at quarter time. After Grant's goal I remember thinking that it would be hard from there (to win), and that we'd better string some goals together. But never once did I think we were going to lose.
It was wierd. Any other time you would have given them away, but something told me not to leave my chair in front of the computer screen, and my three hour connection to the internet proved to be well worth the cost.
I wasn't even nervous in the last quarter as I just knew that we would be in front at the final siren. I was more nervous watching a replay of the game two days later, and the full magnitude of the boys' effort really sank in.
What more can you say?
We do have the greatest football side ever to grace a paddock!
Go Boys, let us all enjoy it while it lasts!!!

Well said Storky - enjoy it while you can, the wheel will do it's turn eventually (although it seems a long way away!)
