As I expected, both Dixon and Lekkas have been told that they will be traded if a suitable agreement can be met (confirmed on channel 10 sport). Not sure who we are after, but this is a step in the right direction, especially with our new youth policy. Both players have underperformed. I suppose Lekkas is a bit stiff, given his consistency prior to 2004, however when compared to a Brisbane/Port midfield/half forward player he doesn't compare. We need premiership material. I would say a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick would be suitable trades, any thoughts?

No surprises there, pity we didn't trade them 2 years ago when they might have been worth something. Dixon has possibly been my greatest disappointment at Hawthorn over the past 2-3 seasons.

Perhaps better to throw them into engineering a deal to get other players more suited to our needs, otherwise it'll be a 3rd round pick which, with the lack of depth in this years draft, won't get us much.

Doubt we'll do better than 3rd round picks for either.

Carlton will probably be up for it.

I thought both would be suited to the Blues. Not sure of his availability but would love to see an up and comer like Jarrod Waite as part of the deal along with a second round pick (if the Blues were to get both AL and BD)

It is a pity though that the Hawks greatest difficiency is their forward line.
IMHO we can ill afford to trade a forward unless we are to get one in return.
Could Clarkson have his eye on Lance Whitnall I wonder.

Good to see in todays Herald Sun that Joel Smith was now considering his latest offer from the Hawks. We can't afford to let him go.

Lekkas - would be worth 2nd and 3rd round picks possibly from Carlton

Dixon - I'm not sure what what clubs would be prepared to offer.
Hawthorn have been linked to Kane Pettifer , maybe a 3 way deal that could involve Dixon.

How about Lekkas,Dixon,John Hook and a slab of crownies just for doing us the favour of taking them of our hands.

lekkas will go for at least a 2nd, and considering its a weak draft, might be considered a bargain.

I'd be more than happy with draft picks for Lekkas , considering that there may be some decent picks up still around the 20-30 mark.

I also read that the Hawks were keen on Pettifer but can only hope that we steer clear of him as I don't think he has anything to offer Richmond let alone Hawthorn.

How bout....Dixon for Zantuck/Shane Tuck or that tallish redhead kid who's name escapes me.

Could Angelo Lekkas be traded to Essendon for Mark Bolton who was played out of position all year and did'nt look a shadow of the player he did 12 months earlier. Hawks were keen on him this time last year but Jacobs wanted out and Bolton wanted to stay at Windy Hill.

Why do you think Bolton was played out of position all year? The reason being that Ess had injuries to their KPP. Bolton for Lekkas will not be happening over my dead body. Keep dreaming.

Bolton...hehehe.

For some reason he's on $300k+ a year as Essendon - more than either Lekka or Dixon are on.

Plays about three inches shorter than he actually is, has been living on potential (just like Dixon) for the better part of a decade and has never actually threatened to become a decent player.

Lekkas for Bolton? Lekkas is two years younger and has been a far better player over the years. No thanks.

Draft picks, or players under 24. It's all about the youth policy people.

While there is no way that I'd want Bolton, he's considerably younger 3/4/79 than Ang 29/6/76. Not sure who you may have been thinking of HiG.

I meant only two years older...my bad.

Last year Bolton and Jacobs were told the first to sign stays and the second is off to Hawthorn. I dont think we would want another psuedo tall like the GJC.

I'd swap Lekkas for Zantuck just to see him play on Willo in a practice match !

Lekkas - "Nathan Brown would ruin the fabric of the Hawthorn FC if we sign him". Thanks Angelo, I suppose sooking like a spoilt brat all year, with zero or less enthusiasm, HELPS the fabric of the club.

Dixon - Get him fit and give him another chance. Excellent mark for his size, and a left footer who can kick on his right is very, very rare. We are too hard on him I think. Craig McRae is no superstar, nor is Richard Hadley, but the media talk them up like they are guns. He needs confidence, and that will come by playing him in one spot. Thomson can't mark, so give BD a go at Full Forward

Ok this is the final offer Ben Dixon,Angelo Lekkas,Shane Crawford,Nathan Thompson,John Hook,George Stone & 2 slabs of crownies.Reasons being Dixon & Lekkas both past use by date, should of traded them 2 years ago instead of talking them in to staying.Crawfs 30 with a stuffed back,Thomos saying ''Show me the money''.John Hook is on a power trip and is not highly regarded at City Hall (afl hq).George Stone is only there because he has a contract....any offers considered we will trade for anything....anyone please!!

I think his name is Kelvin Moore

I think our football department would be too stubborn to trade for Tuck esp since we promised then shafted him and got Ball instead.
