I haven't seen Magnolia yet, but thought Mullholland Drive was a very good film, although I can understand why certain people wouldn't like it. Are you not a fan of David Lynch or arthouse movies?

And also D1ckie Roberts Former Child Star is the worst film ever. Horrible.

Dune is okay as long as you've read the book and know what the hell is going on. And as long as you don't make the mistake of buying the cheap new edition DVD with the cartoon at the beginning - I made this mistake and now know why the Director insisted that his name be removed. I ended up using it as a drink coaster.

 Sleepless In Seattle is an absolute beautiful movie! I guess personal choice comes into it, but the movie is beautifully scripted as it tells the story of Sam and Jonah, Maggie and Walter and finally Maggie and Sam. I know you need a different taste in movies to like this one but to say it's trash, are you insane? My example of trash is Jackass, do you hear me say it? Respect other people's choices of movies. If we all had the same taste in movies it would be a boring place to live in, however we all don't and calling other movies; Trash isn't really acceptable. Thankyou.

Mullholland Drive I'd wanted to see for ages, and watched it about a year ago.

I'm still wishing i could have that time back.

Not only was it one of the most poorly made, filmed, directed, scripted, and scored film Ive ever seen, but I don't think David Lynch even knows what some of his scenes are about.

And DUNE the film, well the two versions Ive seen, are a travesty to the book.

You know how its impossible to convince a religious person that there is no god, its the same trying to convince simple people that others are capable of abstract thought.Abstract thought is fine, but abstracting it so much as to be unrecognisable is torture.

Mulholland Drive was a rejected TV series stuffed and edited into a film. It shows.

It would have been a great TV series. As a movie... well the only way I can think of getting my time back is to force David Lynch to do my taxes. Then we'll be even I think.

You're not going to change anyone's opinion on a movie, by having a go at them. You just may have offended those that like the movie Jackass. Respecting other people's choices is by agreeing to disagree.

I liked Sleepless in seattle, but if someone calls it trash.. meh! It's no skin off my back. "trash" isn't bad bad bad word. I'm sure they could have throught of others that would really really offend someone. Don't get worked up over someone not liking the movie you do.

I thought Mulholland Drive was pretty good - certainly not a classic.

This one has probably only been seen by the arty movie liker out there, of which I am one, but it was a SHOCKER!! "Digby goes down". Had great reviews, stars McKauly Culkin (sp?)'s brother, but had to turn it off after half the movie. It was seriously dreadful. Rich tosser american kid thinks he can do what he wants coz he is rich, and gets proven right. I hope it got better but I was not willing to take the risk.

I don't see many terrible movies as I try to avoid the obvious ones at the megaplexes (I'll go see a good Hollywood movie - I'm not a total snob), but thei Digby Goes Down sure slipped through.

Appleyard (if that is your real name :p), just because you don't understand a movie, doesn't make it a crap movie. Magnolia is a twisted movie, but just watch it for the individual performances, Cruise and Macy in particular, which make it watchable at worst.

Worst movie ever would easily have to be "pumpkin". About some high school girl (Ricci) who has to look after this disabled athlete as a school thing. Pulls out the lamest lines, most incredible personality changes, impossible scientific feats and just reeks of crapness.

My sisters reckon theres a movie called phat, about a fat girl who finds this rich, handsome, caring guy who likes her cause shes fat and thinks that girls should be overweight and finds skinny girls (or average sized girls for that matter) repulsive. Go figure.

If you've not seen it, I'd strongly recommend Lynch's Lost Highway. I have a strong suspicion he wasn't even acting in Lost Highway).

I still hold out that that abomination Lost In Space, with that spanker from Friends in it, was by far the worst movie I have ever seen.

I saw it in the theatre and from the first five minutes predicted all the major plot twists that were going to happen. As it all unfolded in front of me, just as I said, I was gobsmacked.

Cannot beat the old black and white version of Titanic, or some other movies like that. The latest one was attempting to be different and centre around other things rather then the sinking.

One movie I didn't really like was Starship Troopers 2, I liked the first one with Casper Van Dien, and Denise Richards, as well as Jake Busey, but the 2nd wasn't anything to write home about.

Bloody Hell. I swore off those sort of movies years ago, but was dragged to this one by a gal I was seeing who had a thing for Gary Oldman. Just as you said, within five minutes the entire plot had been telegraphed. It was the worst cinema-going experience I have ever endured - sheer and utter toture.

I honestly felt dirty afterwards, having given money to the makers and screeners of such dross. For aiding Oldman's selling out, William Hurt apparently not caring anymore and ever so slightly furthering the careers of Matt Le Blanc and that insufferable chipmunk-voiced moppet from "Party of Five".

Mentally, it took a long time for me to come to terms with what I had done. But talking about it on forums like these has helped my rehabilitation.

Are you gay?

Anything with Sarah in it is cinematic geniuses, regardless of its quality.

And in the case of 'The Grudge' it's actually a decent movie. A little scary for my liking but I'm a little bitch so what gives.

Nice urine extraction there :thumbsu: , anyway The Grudge would have to be one of the most overhyped movies of all-time, was not in the least bit scary and utterly predictable.

In the words of Dave Chapelle as Rick James (not be confused with BF poster) :

"I wish I had more hands... so I could give those titties four thumbs down!"

Scoop, the new Woody Allen-Scarlett Johannson-Hugh Jackman film, is horrible.

Capote....that voice P.S Hoffman projects thru out this boring melodrama is the worst. He's supposed to be copying the real guys voice but it doesn't work. Do not rent this movie:thumbsd:

And.......if you're got kids sleeping while trying to get thru this rubbish....make sure your walls are thick cause one has to turn up the volume full blast just to hear hoffman speak..in that voice:o

Ypu have no idea pal, Capote was a brilliant film.

He really overdid it and the movie was quite dull overall.

Evil Aliens qualifies highly in both worst and best film categories....i strongly advise everyone to rent it out, its a British horror/comedy.

Snakes on a Plane.:thumbsd:

This was one of the few movies that I've rented, watched a bit then returned it without watching the rest. What utter crap. Anyone who enjoyed this needs their head read. :thumbsd:

But didn't you KNOW it was going to be bad. I mean come one 'Snakes on Plane', the title is giving you a big clue right there. You deserve to be put out on the grounds of naive optimism that that film would be anything BUT shyte.

I was expecting the movie to be bad but bad in a good sort of way. It was bad in a bad sort of way.

Jindabyne.

Snore fest poorly acted by some of the ugliest people I’ve seen on a screen. Wtf are the decent reviews for this about?

Luckily I was at home so was able to leave the room before the end & listen to some loud music with headphones.
Jindabyne is the most overrated, slow and boring film I've seen since 10 canoes. I know it's based on a short story, but the fishing scene was straight out of Robert Altman's shortcuts and there was nothing new there. All the Aboriginal spirit crap makes he shake my head whenever someone puts it in a movie.

The sound track was terrible.

The Lady in the Water was a shocker and we didn't even get to see Bryce Dallas Howard's ruby snatch.

Showgirls will take some beating.

At least there was some juggly action in that one.
