A few seasons back i thought he would develop into a handy backman for the Kangas, but this year he seems to have either lost form or favour with the coach.
While it hasnt been mentioned anywhere i thought perhaps Pagan might try and bring him to the Blues for some added height down back after his successful raid with Teague and Morrell.
Not sure what he would be worth as far as trade value.
perhaps Baird for Livingston or a later pick?
others thoughts?

Baird athletically is great but decison wise is poor and under pressure is shocking but had a great season in 2003 but had a poor 2004 spending most of his time at port melbourne i would give up a 3rd pick for him but that is a gamble. Baird would be good in a good team as he his a forward of the ball player but in a bad team would cost to many turnovers.

Would be quite happy to trade Steven Greene for him.

I reckon we'd take just about anyone. This is a bloke that caned Riewoldt in round one of 2003, and has done nothing since. Too small to be a KPP, too slow to be a flanker/pocket.
Would be a good pickup for Carlton possibly.

All the unwanted defenders would be good at Carlton like Baird, Walsh etc.
Pagan has a knack of getting the best out of his players.

I hate to be bias, but as a saints fan... John Baird had a day out against Riowoldt in Round one 2002. This prooves the guy can play, however his consistancy is what worries me. I have stong ties with the roos footy club and know he is dedicated to the club, but could become good tarde bait.

He just looks very half-arsed when he plays. Like there are many things he would rather be doing and playing footy was more of an inconvinience for him. He has played some very good games (not just him destroying Reiwoldt, twice!) but has been very poor at times as well. Definitely worth a gamble, but his time at North is up, he might benefit from a change of scenery.
