Anyone reckon he is a chance to end up at west coast? We probably dont need him with the strength of our midfield, but had a pretty good season. Hate to see him at the dockers

He is okay maybe worth putting on a rookie list. I am not sure he will get picked up though. i think if freo went for a roughy out of the wafl they would go for Smith, despite being older he has shown a bit more at wafl level.

Priddis had an awesome year tho, he finished high up in the sandover. Smith is a different player, how can u compare them.

I think he's in line for a rookie listing with the Eagles. Someone from the club was saying the other day that they were looking at adding to their midfield and that they had a 21 year-old in mind. Is priddis 21?

na he's 19. I reckon he's ready for AFL now, just reckon someone mite beat us to him. He's registered for the national draft i think, as he did last year. Many ppl were surprised he wasnt picked up. Hes strong in the tackles

not great on his non preffered foot either. But would be worth a club putting him on there rookie list, can only see freo or WCE doing it though

I think he would fit well into a team that forces alot of stoppages, ties the game up alot and who plays on a small ground. Sydney would be an almost ideal fit.

I've got something to say. Dont bump threads excessively, it will lower your perceived IQ.

After reading your posts in the thread below, I'd hazard a guess that you are inflating that figure slightly ;)

Sledge - no, ribbing - yes. Hence the ;)

As for being an Army officer, I spent 12 years in the Defence Force. When did they start making 19 year old kids officers? Or are we talking cadet?

well when one considers that it takes 18 months to complete RMC, it makes sense that i am, considering im 20 in 4 months.

No sweat, my intention wasn't to sledge anyway. As I said earlier, welcome to BigFooty. As long as you aren't another Luke Logan, the more Eagles supporters here the better.
www.eaglesflyinghigh.com is probably worth a visit if you haven't already been there.

If he had the football brain that Hasleby has he would be a chance.

No, he won't, we need Brad Smith.

I would love to see Matty at the Eagles. I went to school with him and he always wanted to be an AFL footballer so what better place to end up than at the Eagles. Like people have said he is 19 and ready for AFL imo.

he isnt a bad player and should be considered for a rookie drafting, however brad smith must be drafted from the WAFL first

sinepari
10 Oct 2004, 17:37
eagles do not need smith. Hansen, Mcdougall, Staker, Gaspar etc etc are enough tall forwards

Travis-WCE
10 Oct 2004, 20:48
these next three years will be the prime years of brad smiths footy carrer, he is only still 24, the eagles need a forward who is established at a senior level and smith has the key forward attributes and i believe if u half wat a play in the wafl kicks in one year, then u will have the amount of goals that a player will kick in the AFL, so as i said before i really think that smith would be at least capable of kicking 40 goals in 2005, if not upto 60 goals as he will progress as a result of being tested at the highest level, and for ur argument about having too many forwards, well priddis is a midfielder, how many midfielders do u think we have already!, young and older players, cuz, juddy, fletch, cox, gardy, kerr, braun, embley, adkins, stinger, selwood, butler etc

sinepari
10 Oct 2004, 20:52
i wouldnt classify smith a success at senior level, he hasnt played afl. This is a priddis thread, not a smith thread anyway. If i wanted ur opinion on smith i would have asked elsewhere. U can pick up more than 1 person in the PSD!!!

When i wrote that freo will be picking him up with our 4th round pick i didn't realise it'd be our best pick. :P
