Listening to 3AW today, they spoke to Michelangelo Rucci. He said that Carr had a meeting with Choco at noon. At the meeting he asked to be traded back to Fremantle to play with his brother.

It would take an extremely complicated deal to make his wish come true. But at least Port now know for sure where he stands.

Just confirmed by Brian Cunningham. The club still wants to keep him, but they will seek to make sure he gets his wish.

Port will still play hardball and have asked for either Matthew Pavlich or Byron Schammer (both South Australians) in return.

Freo may need to chuck in a bit more to the Dees as well. Port will want more than just Thompson for Carr. Draft pick or another player maybe.

Dont want tubby Jeff back.

We'll take Dunn, Haddrill, Salopek or Chaplin.

Wouldn't mind Dew or Thurstans either.

If it's a 3 way it has to be Dunn or Walker.

Probably Dunn.

Melbourne won't let Thompson walk for nothing.

Haddrill will not be invovled.
Anyone that thinks freo will trade someone who is currently a top 5 backman and probally the youngest of the top 5 is insane.
If simmonds is rated as a top 10 pick value than Haddrill is a top 5.
Carr too may be a top 5, but Haddrills value is higher.
Dunn and a top 10 pick is maybe around hte money, but too much in my opinion as well.

If Melbourne are after a full back, Thornton or Mundy may come into it.

If that happened I would shout you an AFL membership.

Hence why that deal would never happen.

Sellers market at the moment.

Too true.

When it comes to trading players for picks, the team trading away the player will usually come off the winner then and there.

And depending on circumstances could be better off in the long run.

For example, Holland for Pick 20, we won then and there and 1 year later it proved a winner for us.

But after making a steal, we used that pick + our pick 6 for Brown, which i would of preferred not to do.

But then Bulldogs had made a steal getting those two picks, and absolutely ********ed up the rest of their trades.

Pick 6 for Lochlan Veale (Delisted now) to ensure they'd get Rawlings in PSD, so basically Pick 6 for Rawlings. :o

Then they used pick 20 to get Peter Street.

So as you can see it is usually a player selling market.

And i am hoping it stays that way so we get some really decent picks for Ottens and hopefully a pick for Zantuck and Pettifer.

Carr asks for trade to Dockers

Port Adelaide premiership midfielder and vice-captain Josh Carr has informed the club that he wants to return to Western Australia to play with his brother Matthew at Fremantle.

The 24 year old has played 104 games for Port since joining the club from East Fremantle in 2000.

He has been weighing up whether to remain with the club that broke through for this year’s premiership, or return home to Western Australia and to the Dockers, where his brother is an established part of the midfield.

Port Adelaide released a statement late on Sunday indicating that Carr remains a required player.

“If a trade were offered for Josh Carr it would only be considered on the basis of equivalent talent in return,” the statement said.

The AFL’s trade period opens on Monday, with all 16 clubs gathering for talks at Optus Oval.

Freo would not dream of trading Thornton ....rated exceptionally highly.
