..... at least I should be in Melbourne NEXT year when we win the Premiership!

Valiant effort by both the Doggies and the Tigers. Well worth getting up at 4.30am to listen to!

Don't speak too soon, C1! Before tonight, I had figured a win tonight, a loss next week. If we can lift and get over the line up there in Brisbane (and we have in the past), we are square as far as I'm concerned.

I would have given my left tentacle to win tonight, though!

K9-54 and I were thinking of you as we were chatting before the start of the match........

Sorry to intrude guys but i sympathise with you on that 'Non-Free' from the blind maggot at the end of the game. Nathan Brown had his head ripped off.....TWICE! Absolute disgrace.

Better luck next time :)

Perhaps some better luck against the Hawks, Chris 23?

Actually I'm now reconciled to not making the Finals this year. With the talented Puppies we've got, from what I've been reading and hearing next year is a certainty! I can't wait for our first Ansett Cup match next year. It'll be homecoming time for me. The footy has kept me sane the past two months with my dad's illness. It's been great being able to meet so many Doggie supporters online. I just wish I could be able to chat with the BigFooty members, but I just can't get through. At least I've been able to chat in our forum and rivals with a few people. I usually went to the footy alone since not many friends of mine are Doggie supporters and the ones who are, are in name only. I can't wait to meet you next year. You'll be able to pick me out for sure - American accented, fiftyish(next year), wearing a coffee stained red, white and blue scarf purchased at Forges in 1990 (the year I returned to Melbourne from Perth) and a Chicago Bulls cap of various sorts (though that will change to Cubs' caps next year after we win the World Series this year!).

I'll look back on these past two seasons and getting up so **** early to listen to the matches from the other side of the world with great fondness! However, nothing will feel as good as seeing the Doggies run out onto the ground for our first match next year! AND spending Grand Final night at the Whitten Oval celebrating a Premiership! Thanks for thinking of me before the match, bulldogs1 and K9-54. I'm with all of you at EVERY match in spirit! :D

Good luck to the cubs, I'll be rooting for them.
I envy you having a team to follow that actually has a chance to win a championship. :)

What would you prefer a world series for the cubs or a premiership for the doggies?

You're right about the kids, they're special. Murphy is starting to justify the huge raps, Bowden I've carried on enough about already, Penny has some big scalps already and always does the right thing, Gilbee was unlucky to be dropped, McMahon will be great when he learns to kick properly and Hahn is as tough as they come(Should be groomed for the midfield I reckon)

The futures bright.

Local, you forgot Giansiricusa the little goal sneak who i think will play midfield as he bulks up.

You are right TD, Guidos a gun. I hope that Bruce gets to call him special at least once before the footy goes to ch. 9/10 because he is.

For a young kid he is so cool under pressure and has a lovely smooth action when kicking for goal.

I think Birss and Cross look likely too.
Chicago i never got to thank you for diffusing the freo situation on Bulldogs Unleashed, so cheers.
Also, do you follow the bears at all? as in NFL. I am an avid Packer fan but am starved of coverage here.

A Doggies' Premiership..... by a mile (kilometer?kilometre?)!

Cubs just acquired a gun player before trades close 31 July. We're serious about winning it all. (Fingers crossed!) :D

Quite OK, sig. I thought your questions sounded quite sincere and some of the responses very juvenile. I guess you make judgements like that when you're a teacher. After 25 years of experience, I think I can pick out sincerity from sarcastic bull manure! :D

Is the reply count up to a century yet? I haven't checked this morning and won't be able to check until later tonight - going to Six Flags to ride the coasters all day with my nephews! (I'm getting too old for this !)

I'm not a big American football fan, but living in Chicago forces me to "root" for the Bears. My father would kill me if I didn't !
