View Full Version : Can anyone come up with a trade that could actually happen?
After reading for the last couple of weeks mostly ridiculous trade scenarios I would like to challenge our cyberspace coaches to come up with trades that will actually happen. your time starts now! At the end of the week we will see who knows their stuff. Remember no duds for blue chip players, your credibility and objectivity are at stake. Getting 3 or more deals correct makes you a champ, anything less go put your dunce cap on and sit in the corner.

Carr for Schammer straight swap.
Freo would be happy as larry with that and Port want something for a guy who doesnt want to play for the club.
Port wont do a Nick Stevens with Carr because he went about it the right way.

No deal. Schammer is too important to us.
The only deal I can see being thought about between Port and Freo is Dunn and first round pick for Carr!
Carr is a very good player, but I agree, Schammer is more important to the Dockers overall.

Richmond lose Ottens
North gain ottens
Collingwood get harvey.
North the biggest winners since Packer sold Channel 9 to Alan Bond.
Richmond lose the best big man in the comp but get some compo in tow 17 year olds who may play AFL footy. :(
Coll significantly boost their engine room.
Early: Ottens wins a Brownlow at North in 05
Port wont do a Nick Stevens with Carr because he went about it the right way.
What? Publically pledged his allegiance to Port when questioned and then snuck out the back door when no one was looking?
Rhys Shaw to Richmond for 2nd or 3rd round pick
or
Presti to Bulldogs for Lindsey Gilbee and 3rd round pick

Rhys Shaw to Richmond for 2nd or 3rd round pick
Absolutely no idea why Richmond would want Rhyce Shaw....
Actually no idea why anyone would want him
Please no Rhys Shaw at Richmond!
Here's one:
Essendon offer up Marc Bullen and Ben Haynes to Hawthorn
Hawthorn offloads Nathan Thompson and an early pick to Geelong
Essendon get David Wojinscki and a extra pick from the Cats.
Essendon make room in the midfield group whilst adding genuine pace.
Geelong get the additional height up forward for them to score more goals.
Hawthorn boost their midfield and running forward stocks.
Both Essendon and Geelong gain the chance to recruit good young footballers.

Not a bad idea Pazza.
Looks reasonably fair for all parties involved.

best big man in the comp????, dont you mean potentially best big man in the comp, why because he has yet to prove it, he has not dominated a season for along time or if ever, he was good in 2001 and the rest is a blur, thats all.
Gardiner, Enright& Pick 32>>>>Collingwood for Pick 7
Geelong pick 7 & 16 to Richmond
Ottens to Geelong

Don't trade Bullen, he'll be the next Judd.
No deal. Schammer is too important to us.
The only deal I can see being thought about between Port and Freo is Dunn and first round pick for Carr!
Freo won't do that as they think dunn is the next big thing. They would have taken him in the top 6. So y would Freo throw away dunn ( pick 10) and another 1st rd pick for Carr?
Don't trade Bullen, he'll be the next Judd.
?????????
Another seriously mis-informed comment by you bomaz...maybe a decent midfielder in time, but Judd? You must only be using one hand to type...

Hawthorn is biggest winner here. Cats would not let Wojinski go, 2nd fastest at the club (after Tenace). Cats could offer Spriggs (who can run) and Enright, while still keeping draft pics

As a last resort basically. That's the only way we'd make that offer!

Port are interested in Corey Enright, Josh Carr wants home to Fremantle, Geelong want Brad Ottens.
Trade 1
Geelong:
Lose: Corey Enright, 2nd or 3rd Round Selection
Gain: Fremantle's 1st Round Selection
Port:
Lose: Josh Carr
Gain: Corey Enright, Geelong's 2nd or 3rd Round Selection
Fremantle:
Lose: 1st Round Selection
Gain: Josh Carr
Then Trade 2
Geelong would trade it's and Fremantle 1st round selections to Richmond for Brad Ottens.
So effectively Geelong trade 1st Round Selection, Corey Enright and 2nd or 3rd Round Selection for Ottens.

This deal is unlikely but seems relatively fair.
Stenglein, Perrie and a 2nd round draft pick to the Eagles. Eagles give Sam Butler, Beau Waters and number 12 pick to the Crows. Crows give number 12 pick and number 8 pick to Richmond for Ottens.
What do you think of this deal would the Eagles except it? Would the Crows except it? From Richmond's and Adelaide's point of view I know I would except this trade. Would Ottens be prepared to move back to his home state?

Why do Freo supporters think they should get Josh Carr for absolutely nothing. Lets get this straight, Carr is a gun premiership midfielder! He is 24 with at least 8 years in front of him and is a ready made midfielder that would benefit Fremantle greatly. Its obvious Freo and their supporters rate Josh, it therefore follows that Port should get something of equal value in return. You keep saying Schammer is too important and now even Ryley Dunn is untouchable!
Honestly Josh Carr is very important to Port as well and just because he wants to go home, doesn't mean Freo should get him for nothing.
Carr for Pavlich favours Port a bit too much but Pav has already said that at some stage he would like to come home. Maybe if Port chucked in Damon White or someone it would even up.
Carr for Schammer. Schammer has shown signs of brilliance but hasn't actually proven himself undoubtedly, Carr has.
Face it Freo youre gonna have to give something up.
Hawthorn is biggest winner here.
How so? By offering up Thompson AND an 'early' (btw what is 'early', pick 2, pick 5 or pick 21?) pick for two average mid-fielders neither of whom are reg first team players?
Oh yea.. now I get it. We become the big winners when trades like that guarantee that we finish (high chance of it happening regardless but this just makes it a certainty) dead last in 05 to take Judd with the pre-season pick.
Glad we cleared that up...

Pretty confident Freo will not come to the party, so no deal on Josh will eventuate and he'll play another 12 months with Port then try again next year.
Any chance Mark Johnson from Essendon to Port to replace Hardwick? Not sure who they would have to trade tho'.
