Jonathan Brown 5 weeks and $3000 dollars poorer
good result for the lions, if that is at all possible. thought he'd get 6-8 given his history and also the potential revenge factor from the headlock being thrown out....

Jonathan Brown 5 weeks and $3000 dollars poorerYep, Brown suspended for five matches (http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,8659,10967995-23211,00.html), not too bad a result all things considered. Let's just hope it puts his head into line for the new season.
How can Lynch get 10 weeks and Brown ONLY 5. He should've been looking at 7 AT LEAST with his record.
what a joke!!!!!
He should of gotten 7-9 at least!. Poor form Tribunal just when i was gaining respect for you guys!
But good job brissy, he must of had a good defence!

Lynch should have got 4.
Brown 3
Black 0.
A pretty good result I reckon. I was expecting a penalty more like what they handed to Lynchy!!

Seriously better than I expected - wonder when seats will be released to Melbourne for next year the round 6 game against the bombers should be a blinder!
Still a harsh penalty. He will miss 5 whole games for one punch thrown in the heat of the moment, in a grand final. Also wasn't an isolated fight, there were a fair few players in. Any more than 5 and it would have been a farce (a bigger farce).
Overhaul of the tribunal can't come quick enough.

The other blokes from Port and Brisbane in the same incident can count themselves lucky to not even being reported.
Such as Brogan. In the back of the vision of Browny's ONE blow that cost 5 weeks, you see Dean Brogan swing down and hit Brad Scott... Yet, not report.
Brown is nothing more than a THUG!!! and should've got 7-8 weeks on his record alone. What an ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!!!
Black should've got 2 weeks (not 3)
Lynch should've got 0 weeks, but fined $30,000
Brown should've got 7 weeks + $3,000 fine
You are kidding yourself surely.
You want him to be given 7-8 weeks because of one punch that wasn't even that good? If he knocked him out and he was taken off on a stretcher then maybe, but the player hit played out the rest of the game no problems.
I think Black was dealt with incredibly harshly. His record was perfect and i think this business of handing out harder penalties for grand finals is rubbish. That is the one game of the year you expect them to not hold back.
Will say right off I haven't seen the incident, as I only caught the game on radio via afl.com (no TV this year in Ohio- and no footy barrackers in Akron that I know of)- but based on what happened in the first week of the finals, I reckon Brown got a huge break. Tribunal could have come back very heavily at him. And, IIRC, didn't the punch take place before the ball was being bounced? Not exactly heat of the action. Brownyt needs to learn to tone down his action- tremendous talent, but really does go over the top.
