How good is this guy? One of the best characters in a tv drama i've ever seen. Comes out with some brilliant lines, and his arrogance is glorious. He is the only reason to watch the show these days (although the English bird is highly spankable).
Pretty damn sexy for an old guy.
, and his arrogance is glorious.
he was good on his spot in seinfeld... as the b*stard who wouldnt apologise to george...

When I was young, maybe 10 or 11, I wanted to be James Spader. It was just after my Han Solo phase, and concurrent with my Andrew McCarthy period.
What a bunch of dumb arse ideas they were.
James was my hero in the movie Tuff Turf.

In the words of the youth of today....
What a dawg.
He plays the coolest characters and I reckon the characters he plays would be very similar to his real life personality.

And I would have wanted to sleep with you! I'm still in my Andrew McCarthy and James Spader phase....growl...
My big actor crush is John Cusack and he's in a movie with James Spader called True Colors...sigh...that's one fine movie (and actually not too bad a film!) And a very young John is in Class with Andrew McCarthy....Hmmm digressing here slightly!

Was that the character that said George's head was to big for his jumper ?
He's good in The Practice. He's much better than the wooden Dylan McDermott.Hopefully the spin-off series is picked up here [ Boston Legal ??? ]
I only started watching the practice once him and the english chick appeared on the show. Can't wait for Boston Legal.

Same here Watto. Love to pole that Pommy.
Along with James Gandolphini (Tony Soprano), Spader is the coolest guy on tv currently.
What on earth is Boston Legal?
What on earth is Boston Legal?
It's a spin-off series from The Practice which has Alan Shore [James Spader] and Tara [the pommie chick ] in it.It also has William Shatner.
The 1st episode aired in the US last week.

Oh goody, he gets his own show. I thought I'd just have to make do with his guest role on The Practice, which wasn't actually supposed to be that long, I think.:)

Who does Shatner have photo's of? He can't act. Or sing from what I've heard.

Spader has made the tired old Practice a must watch again. The episodes with Sharon Stone were stunning. He is the most shrewd, scheming, sneeky, self loathing (an yet sometimes kind) bastard on TV now.
Thank God his arrival meant the end of boring Bobby. The rest of the self righteous old cast must be bleeding as Alan Shore steals every show.
Bring on Boston Legal.
who is that sexy pommy chick anyway. any one got any pics or info on her.

Both Sharon Stone and James Spader have made me a fan again, usually I am not a big Sharon Stone fan, but her work on The Practice was very good. I have always liked Spader, he has made me able to watch The Practice again. Also Rhona Mitra is pretty good on the show aswell. I was worried that they show would fall away once half the cast was dumped, but the show looks better then ever.

That sight said she had a boob job. Not suprising because they are spectacular.
Anyone remeber the nude nextdoor chick in Hollow Man (with Kevin Bacon)?
hubahuba.
She makes a perfect Laracroft too. The looks, the voice.
James Spader is great in most things he acts in.
No wonder he won the EMMY for best actor in a drama series.
Alan Shore was in fine form last night. His cracks at Jimmy are amusing.
Betty White's [Golden Girls chick ] character is just totally different from any role I've ever seen her in.Her character is a total bitch. I like it. :D

maybe im just a bobby fan, but i find james spader's acting terrible. it just seems fake and as tho hes got one look/reaction for everything. kind of a fickle attempt at charisma and poise. but the scene where he gave it to jimmy and jimmy took a swing was good. all usa shows suffer from an inability to keep the successful cast together - ER, The Practice - or where they struggle to maintain the cast for wateva reasons - Sex and the City, Friends, Seinfeld - that ultimately ends the show. the practice probably has about 2 or 3 seasons left in it. david e kelly has to run out of legal ideas eventually given that he had to spread it across two shows - ally mcbeal and the practice

The Practice was axed earlier this year. There's only another 8 episodes to be shown here.
Does anyone else think William Shatner's character [Denny Crane ] is just a male version of Sharon Stone's character from earlier in this season ?
Both were bonkers outside the courtroom, but work were normal in the courtroom.

Best. Character. Ever.
I'm so glad I didn't give up on this show, it would have been a huge mistake. The fact they're basing another show around Spader (which I didn't know until today, thanks everyone!) shows how successful his role has been, even if he's not everyone's cup of tea.
Got to say though, I liked Bobby also - mostly just in the court room where he was brilliant.
Oh and Tara Wilson, say no more. ;) Although, I liked the previous "receptionist" who is currently back making a cameo at the moment - Lucy. I think her real name is Marla Sokoloff from memory.
Great show - I'm not eagerly anticipating Boston Legal!

"evertonfc,
*Stands Up*
Has been a stroke of genius from David E. Kelley to bring Spader into the series.
I've always like The Practice, and was indeed a big fan of Bobby and his cohorts. But having seen the new series, it's gone up even more in my estimation.
And the infusion of William Shatner as Denny Crane was equally brilliant. The ego's at work at perversely charming; you can't help but love Alan and hope that his crassness will wreak the millions out of Eugene Young :)
Boston Legal should be tremendous, and we've got a local boy in there, too.

Vince Colosimo isn't in Boston Legal.
Rebecca DeMornay also isn't in it.It seems audiences didn't like her character.

Understandable. I like Vince, but he seemed too 'straight and narrow' for the show and DeMornay was crap.
I'm not sure Boston Legal will be as good. Part of the appeal was the fact James Spader kept getting in all the conservative types' noses, but the new firm seems like a bunch of nutters. Still, I'll watch it and see how it goes.
Spader has been brilliant but William Shatner is even better, I'm rapt he is in the new show.

Not that I always trust Google, but you're incorrect according to some American sources.
Eleanor is my hero, I loved that right hook she dished out last night to that bitch & she has that Danny Crane scared, she is the best character in that show. :D

I got the info from tvtome.com.It said this :
Although Rebecca DeMornay was part of the cast during the shows run on The Practice as Hannah Rose, she was let go due to the fact that audiences did not like her character.
Although Vince Colossimo was part of the cast during the shows run on The Practice as Matthew Billings, he was let go for unknown reasons
and this is the cast listed on Boston Legals web site ABC (http://www.abc.com)
James Spader - Alan Shore
William Shatner - Denny Crane
Monica Potter - Lori Colson
Rhona Mitra - Tara Wilson
Lake Bell - Sally Heep
Mark Valley - Brad Chase

Unknown reasons is another way of saying he got the arse because his American accent was cringeworthy.
