Probably the reason why we are just above mid-table, if blokes like this are pushing up for the ton , we are going no-where , fast.
Embarassing.

Given how many games he had actually played to this point in 2001, to be even this close to 100 games just shows how much a bit of luck and hard work can get you.

A lot of Essendon's fringe players (and I think we all know who I am talking about) would do well to follow Bolts' lead here.

He did play SOME good footy in 2002 and 2003. Now's the time to develop some (positive) consistency, because his consistency was negative in 2004. We can't play him every week just so he can run with Pavlich and Goodes 2 or 3 times a season. As a key defender, he's embarrassing.

I'm afraid he's not in my best 22.

Richards, at least Teddy can play like a tall and does a competent job on bigger forwards, and can go forward and kick goals better than Bolton.

I hear alot of Bombers supporters giving it to Bolton, but from what ive seen of him he seems alrite, and a decent player. You guys see him play every week, what's the reason for all the criticism?

If he was played up forward he would be alright. But unfortunatley i am not too fussed with our forward line. Unfortunatley like someone else said he isnt best 22.

Urgh! Definately not worth a 3 year contract.

We see him every week. It's like a multi car pile up.

He does stand the mark well.

He's OK in some games where the opposition have a player we can use him against, but as a key defender, exerts zero defensive pressure. Got all the physical attributes of a footballer, except the brain that tells him how to play as he gains further experience.

Can any Boltonite in here name me a few games, or ever 1, where Groundskeeper Willie has been one of our BOG's?

For only 20 minutes until he pulled his hammy?

Playing only 20 minutes of a match doesn't qualify you as BOG, unless you're Jimmy Hird

Last game I can think of would be the game against Brisbane last year..where even the umpires gave him votes!

That was tongue in cheek.

Against the Swans at the dome a couple of years ago.

Bolts was good when we did not play him as a key position. Is not strong enough to play on key forwards but i do rate him as a player.

Hr'd be better value on the wing or a flank, but he hasn't earned the right to play where he wants to play. Rather he must play where we need players of his build.

He should have the experience to play in defence by now, and to anticipate the flow of play. This is what craps me off so much about him. Same with Henno, It's not as if they're 20-game tyros.

Whilst he is an admitedly average player, it is a bit harsh to base our "marginally better than average " ladder placings on Bolton's place in the team.

You can't have 22 superstars on your list.

I'm watching the game vs Melbourne from 2002 on Fox Footy. Mark Bolton is the stand out player on the ground. Toweled Schwartz, taking contested marks everywhere, pin pointing targets....

Whats all the fuss about?

2002 ... where he played half a 'servicable' season.

It was around the "Nuts About Bolts" craze.

Didn't that just die in the arse? :D
