I think we should have a go at picking Lockwood up. Young, big and has enough ability to have been drafted at no 4 in '97. Out of favour at Port, and if you check out their site, their fans want him dumped.
There is usually not too many 21 y.o. 195cm forwards available. I'm sure we have a few we could offer up as trades. Cox, Garlick, Bartlett, Alvey, Contessa, even Dimattina

wow, thats amazing, i was telling my mates who i go to the footy with exactly the same thing. We should definitely go for Lockwood.

I've long thought that a target in the forward line would improve our play Someone for the guys to kick to would straighten us up and make us play more directly. Lockwood would be good.
Maybe a good swap would be Alvey he was a top ten pick from the same draft ('97). Wouldnt like to see him go though-he will play good footy at some stage.

Lockwood has been mentioned before on this board i think. For the exact reason's local says he would be great. Assuming the guy has some sort of talent. (such an early draft selection would suggest he does) We have missed guys to fill this role like Barker and Molloy who have flourished when swithcing clubs...hope it doesn't happen again.
Just a note:Lockwood was actually pick no. 7 in the 1996 draft.
And Alvey didn't go until no. 18 in 1997.
Isnt he always injured . maybe we can trade for bartlett!!!
