I hate remakes, and so when I heard that this all time classic has been remade, I cringed.

Haven't seen it yet, but saw the review on the At the Movies show tonight and it sounds very promising.

Interesting that Haliburton replaces the Commies.

And for those who've never seen the original, it is one of the great thrillers of all time. Angela Lansbury gives a tremendous performance. An absolute cracker.

Terrific film with great performances by Lasbury and Sinatra. Chilling in a way that only great B & W films can be. The remake cannot hope to compare.

Will certainly give it a look, David and Margaret are usually on the money. Haven't seen the original, but from what I know of it, it seems like a pretty interesting premise for a thriller.

Just saw it tonight - perhaps it's a bit like comparing the remake of Cape Fear with the original - classy update well done.

Very good. Recommended.

No.

Janet Leigh plays the role of a blonde bimbo - pretty well a cardboard character with no relevance to the main story.

I enjoyed it a lot.

However who needs to brainwash politicians to do the will of large corporations. Would just be a waste of money as a bribe or kickback would be much cheaper.

I've read enough about MK-Ultra to NOT want to see it. Freaky scary stuff.

I saw this movie a few days ago and was majorly disappointed. If we had been guessing all along what the plot was fine as the concept was brilliant but knowing the set up from the beginning ruined it for me. I found myself looking at my watch at the 2 hour mark and being grateful there was only about 20 minutes to go.

Did the original movie do this? Have the diretcors of this one assumed people have seen the last one and not worried about revealing the plot straight off?
