The President of the North Hobart Football Club GUNNS NORTH HOBART DEMONS , Mr John Leedham, announced today that former Sandy Bay premiership player and Brighton coach in 2003 and 2004 Des James has been appointed Bench Coach of North Hobart for the 2005 season.

James, an All Australian player in 1979, also represented the TFL and Tasmania on numerous occasions. He had previously been assistant coach and reserves team coach at North Hobart.

Mr Leedham also announced that former North Hobart premiership player Byron Howard had been appointed Reserves Coach for 2005. Howard, a Player Life Member of the club, won the club best and fairest award in 1995. He also won the TFL goal kicking award on 3 occasions including 1995 when he kicked over 100 goals.

Howard coached Brighton to SFL premiership in 1998 and to runners up in 1999.

Mr Leedham paid tribute to 2003 and 2004 Bench Coach Glenn Frame, who due to his increasing work commitments, stepped down from the position and to 2004 Reserves Team coach Shane Arnol who has retired from coaching.

Arnol, who played in excess of 100 games for the club, has held various coaching positions at the club over a number of years.
