View Full Version : Hauritz cements his spot

With Hauritz almost unplayable and claiming 2 wickets in his first 5 overs i think he has cemented his spot in the test team for the next 5-6 years.

You forgot your ;)
And I don't think Dravid think's he's unplayable.
34.6 Hauritz to Dravid, SIX, MAX! tossed up outside the off stump,
lofted over the long-on fence, going down on one knee as he played
the shot
Good debut though. As WA found out over the past few days, it is just as important being able to dismiss the tailenders.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Funniest thread for YEARS!!!

I don't think you're taking this pitch into account, this is a pitch where Dizzy was bowling 90 miles per hour off spinners. Anyone can turn it on that crap

I'm more interested in how Harbhajan and Kumble will do on this pitch when they're bowling, they'd do way more than Hauritz.

Mark Waugh got 3 wickets in the last tour over here as well, has he cemented himself a spot in the Test team as a bowler for the next 5-6 years? :D

make nothing of it

While this title of this thred is a joke, dismissing it like that is pretty poor. First wicket in his first over and he had to wait for the quicks to do the damage. Ponting asked him to do a job and he is doing it.

he's doing a job Krejza could have easily done himself

good work on getting 3 fer, it's probably the most satisfying moment in all the selectors careers

3 wickets now.

My point is that most of the morons who were slagging him off were making out like he couldn't even hit the pitch before he had bowled a ball in test cricket.

Go Haurrie......

Yeah, 3 wickets on debut including your first over in India is a terrible start and not one you want on your resume

How bloody lucky is this bastard? Somehow gets into the team despite a severely dodgy first class record, then manages to be playing his first test when the Indian appear to be trying to get out.

Every player needs luck and he got it. He did the job- not his fault that the pitch suit him or the Indians were out of form. You can only do your job to your best of your ability, regardless of the opposition.

I think he should try out a lottery ticket, he might be lucky enough to win it

Don't forget, this pitch is seriously the biggest dustbowl you will ever see. Warnie said yesterday that this Day 1 pitch is like a Day 4 pitch...

Any spinner should get wickets on this pitch, otherwise Indians wouldn't have picked 3 spinners

It is not his fault the selectors gave him his baggy green. What is he meant to do? Give it back and refuse to play?

what a debut by Hauritz!, 5 overs i think for 3 wickets, fantastic effort!, the upcoming tour of new zealand here should be a good one, with both hauritz and vettori in good form.

Cooldude
4 Nov 2004, 15:30
Vettori is not in good form, how's doing well against Bangladesh classify as good form anymore?

llosis
4 Nov 2004, 16:02
Well Hauritz really couldn't have done anymore than he did with the ball. 3 for anyone would take.

What I'm anxious to see if the Indian tweakers. Could be very scary!

5 overs is good form?

Getting Kumble playing a get out shot, Harbhajan and Kartik (batting at about Stuey MacGill level) isn't a great achievement, but it is 3 Test wickets. Good performance, however there is no way he is the second best spinner in Australia.

Lets just pray that Warney is back in time to face NZ. Hauritz has done well but im not going to read too much into it. The simple facts of the matter are Hauruitz could not spin Don's Wheel. Good luck to him, he has impostered hs way into the Australian squad somehow, even more amazingly has managed a game. He can obviously bowl somewhat, but I just take the notion that if your a middle of the mill state player at best and there are also better quality spinners available on the tour and in Australia you should not be getting a game in the side in these siutations. Best of luck to him.

He still got them out?!?! I would have loved to see some of the people on here had Cameron White got these wickets! It would have been hilarious.

He did well.

Cleanedd up the tail, but they were the only chances he got and he took em.

Probably not the second best spinner in Australia, but he is the second best australian spinner in India, therefore got his chance. He was lucky, but everyone needs some.

I can't believe he took the new ball last night instead of McGrath. Then he didn't make the batsman play, not good bowling.

I could have got those three wickets, probably 4 and White would have done it in an over

As a spinner you laugh like crazy when a batsman does what Kumble did, it was bloody stupid

Lets see him bowl to Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag etc. He will be lucky to get 5 overs a spell

The only thing Hauritz will do is allow the ******** part timers to get a go so we can have a good laugh

Cant Bat, Cant Bowl. The traditional QLD fill in

Is there anything that is the extreme opposite of the musashi award? Go and marry Cam White, if your lucky Brad Hodge will visit on your honeymoon and the 3 of you can live happily ever after.

No because if White had of taken them he wuld have been the greatest spinner of all time. Even though i am from Victoria, the Victorian bias is a joke. If Hauritz was form Melbourne you would all be over him like a rash. How long til the selectors New South Wales bias becomes Queensland bias?

I think it will become or is 'anti-Victorian' bias and it will very soon become 'Anit eddiesmith and his dellusional ramblings' bias.

Gee, some people can not give credit where it is due. He is playing, got 3 wickets in India on debut and is still copping it. He did not select himself to play.

Nathan did not get a CHANCE to bowl to the top batsmen- so how can he get them out? Oh that is right, some dud fast bowlers just happened to get them out by the name of McGrath, Gillespie and Kaspa.

As for this anti Victorian bias, if that existed, White and Hodge would not have been on tour and they would have taken MacGill and someone else instead.

He can bat- scored 94 in a Pura Cup match last season. The QLD fill in.......yeah, Hayden and Kaspa are just fill ins alright.
