According to this morning's sunday mail (aka lecornus weekly) Ebert has signed for 2 years and Dew is not far away.

Ominous silence regarding Schofield - will he look good in Purple ?

Great news about Ebo. As for Schoey, he must have a sniff from somewhere to hold out this long.

Purple as a colour can look quite fashionable. It's the abomination of purple and green together that's an eye sore. Christ the dockers guernsey is the worst in the AFL by the length of the straight.

'onya SOG. Now lets see a HFF goal kicking duel with Josh Mahoney in 2005. Who will reach 100 in the H&A season first?
BTW Jabsy I'm a casual Phantom 'Phan' myself. Have been relying on my kids to buy the comics but they live in an age where you just plug in the Playstation.

Schoe should be given every chance to redeem himself, he has given us good service.
Our fast running midfielder supplies are on their way down anyway!

Remember the club has already offered him a deal based on what they believe is best for the club not what Schofield believes is best for himself.

I'm quite happy to back the club's judgement on that.

Well the ones 30 and over sure are which Schofield will be next season

but

I think the youngsters (22yo and younger) on our list would say otherwise when you consider we have the likes of Salopek, Surjan, Junior Burger, Cassisi, K Cornes, Ebert amd Symes.

Add Senior Burger, Francou, James, Kingsley (2004 edition), Pickett and Wilson and our need to retain Schofield on the form he has had over the last season or two is almost nil given he's the one putting demands on the club.

We will likely be drafting at least one fast running midfielder.

I hope that in these two years he learns how to keep the ******** out of Tredder's way.

give the kid a break

I did. I allowed two years to correct this obvious flaw.

When he starts playing on the wing he won't be anywhere near Tredrea anyway.

Is he fast enough for an AFL wing??

I think he will be a great wing even though he may not end up being one of the quicker ones. Good mark, good long kick, and plenty of footy smarts to be in the right spot at the right time.
The bit where he may be short of atm is endurance and accountability, but they will both come given time.

If he learns accountability, Ebert could be a solid half back/back pocket in the Chris Johnson mould.

To tell the truth, it's inconceivable for an Ebert to play anywhere other than Port.

(Yes, I do remember when Craig went and played with West Adelaide, but he came back, and one of Russell's nephews plays for North Adelaide)

I agree. Brett bleeds port, like tredders will never leave the power
