Just a bit of news, The Benalla All Blacks Football Club have won the appeal and have been allowed to finally make the move to the Ovens and King Football League. This has been an ongoing saga for many many years now and it has finally happened.

Rumbalara, Shepparton East and Dookie United are also planning to move from the troubled Central Goulburn league. I have heard different stories on what is happening there but nothing final as yet.

Congratulations to Benalla All Blacks on finally moving to the greener pastures of the Ovens & King F.L, although you won't get instant success overnight, if recent history is to go by (Panton Hill moved from the Yarra Valley Mountain District F.L, where like the All Blacks, they recieved weekly floggings, and travelling to the ends of the earth every fortnight, until they got a clearence to the Diamond Valley F.L., where they struggled to find thier feet until recently, when they reached the finals), but i'm sure you're at least heading in the right direction.

It has been hard for the All Blacks over recent years, competing for players against a number of clubs, Benalla Saints, Tatong, Devenish, Swanpool, Goorombat, Glenrowan and Violet Town. There is a lot of clubs drawing from a relatively small town like Benalla. We lost 36 players at the start of 2003 season, which leaves a big hole in the club both on and off the field.

2005 is looking good for the All Blacks, we have some great coaching prospects, but we still need to sign someone. We also have some very good recruiting prospects as well, and a new president who is determined to make things happen. Things are starting to turn around!
