I know it has been raised here before, but this site is a disgrace. What is going to happen at the peak of the season?

Baggygreen only do them when they are on T.V. Cricket australia are going to do all scores live, but they arent very good at the moment.

what si the difference between cricket australia site and BaggygreenCricket Australia's official site is cricket.com.au, it used to be baggygreen.com.au but now baggygreen has nothing to do with Cricket Australia, it's just an Australian focused mirror of cricinfo.

I think baggygreen was run by ch.9 and cricket australia gave them the live scoring. Then cricket australia and baggygreen had an argument over coverage so bagygreen was only restricted to live scoring of games showed on channel 9.

Someone on here said cricket australia was also run by ch.9 or something.

(I am not sure of this, but it seems logical enough). :D

Sorry but they (CA) didn't need to go and stuff the whole thing up like they have. They've seen the good work baggygreen/cricinfo has done (and the traffic no doubt ie revenue) and have said we can do that and get all the action for ourselves.

But in the meantime they have denied cricket followers, particularly domestic cricket fans, the opportunity to follow the game on the net as we have done for a number of years. If they are the custodians of the game in the this country they damn well need to explain to us the fans why the hell they are treating its net coverage in such a shoddy and amateurish fashion. We can be all understanding and soft all we like , but the fact remains it didn't have to happen like this except for CA's c0 ck up of their own doing.

I logged on to CA website today to find the latest news items were from August. AUGUST!

Pathetic.

No free to air Ashes ... no cricket scores on the Internet .... boy, cricket is really creating a good service to the public isn't it? Keep this up Cricket Australia and I may find something else to do.

Yet another breakdown.

When will Cricket Australia work out that their new site is rubbish and go back to the baggygreen website that they should never have left. These breakdowns have gone far beyond a joke! Something has to be done.

I would send them an email, but I fear a "standard response". :D

To add insult to injury, the spate of "server busy" messages has returned to this site too.

I have sent numerous emails of disgust to Cricket Australia about their poor site. The scores are often wrong, the batsmen and bowlers in the wrong order, the display of the site inadeqate, etc etc

I can only hope that you all inundate them with your emails of disgust

This is the reply I got:

Thank you for your message. Cricket Australia knows how passionate
cricket followers are about keeping up with scores online, and we are
working very hard to address the stability and accuracy issues that have
occurred.

We are aware of the issues with incorrect individual batsman scores, and
have a technical team working on it right now. The innings scores are
correct, and we expect to have the Victorian first innings individual
scores fixed this afternoon.

Live scoring is a very high priority for us, and we will continue to
build the system until it gives the best possible online experience. We
appreciate your patience with this process.

they sent me this on live scores and etc..

Thank you for your message about live scores on cricket.com.au

Live scores are a vital part of our site, and Cricket Australia is
working with Virtual Spectator (providers of scores to Channel 9 TV) to
provide informative and accurate live scores for all international
matches involving Australia, all Pura Cup, all ING Cup and many women's
matches.

We are still coming to terms with implementing the system across
multiple venues in a live environment and we accept that the system has
at times fallen short of our intended goals for accuracy, stability and
presentation.
We are confident that the issues experienced can and will be resolved
quickly.

In the case of the current match, we are aware of the problems with both
scores and match reports, and have a technical team working on it as
their top priority.

Cricket Australia is committed to live ball-by-ball scoring of
international and domestic cricket in Australia, and we look forward to
building on the current system until it surpasses both your and our own
expectations.

We appreciate your patience with this process, and welcome all future
feedback.

When will the money men of world sport start selling online packages for ppl to buy and watch sport over the net, surely the market is huge and the technology is pretty good but we are stuck in the dark ages of score updates typed out and updated every now and then.

Count yourselves lucky lads!!! At least you'll get some coverage in the evening news/papers the next day. Try finding out how your team is doing from the other side of the world

It's time they (CA) pulled their finger out. I too sent my letter to CA about the live scores and got the standard response. Doubt they read it

You can count on BigFooty to provide sporadic scores somehow... they always do.

I sent them an email complaining about:
not listing what day/session/overs to go
putting the bowler stats in batting order!
shuffling up the innings order - the other day during SA's 2nd innings (4th of the match) the order down the page was Qld 2nd Inn, SA 2nd Inn, Qld 1st Inn, SA 1st Inn!
And maybe more... didn't get a reply.

They need to sack their database guy and hire an actual scorer who knows the protocols so that you can work out what's going on without reading the entire page.

Spot on John Paul. The site is bloody ugly as well. You would think Cricket Australia could afford a half-decent site, but they spend $5 on it. An absolute joke.
