How many people here are a member of www.thepowerfromport.com, the best dedicated AFL club site?

It was the best, but with each `upgrade' its become more of a pain to use. You must be logged in to follow the links to article? And now they're just dumped in with a bunch of regular threads? Its a shame.

I know a few of the members, i used to have my photos on the site, which a lot were stolen from but however there are a few on there that are good mates! great news site! always updated.

Their in the process of upgrading it now I think. Why can't u just get the computer to remember u then u won't have to log in every time u go to the site. Still is a fantastic site, bit quiet at the moment being the off season and all.

A great reference site for both Port Adelaide teams which has grown remarkably from a basic news/email group quite a few years ago into what it is today.
Whilst I don't post there as often as I used to due to lack of time (which affected my time here as well this year) I still use it as a back up to check I've got all the news stories that I send out to members of the Port Adelaide Football Club Top End Supporters Group.

Good site yeah but it has become a touch of a pain to use.
I prefer posting here because i like the fact you get supporters from all clubs on this site and get over teams supporters views on our club, so its not so insular and biased.
Vi has put it in a lot of time and effort over the years for that site and she deserves all the kudos possible for it.

Yeah I still go over there, I wouldnt say it is a pain to use. You enter your username and password which takes about 10 seconds and you browse at your leisure, no dramas at all.

Macca 19's post pretty well speaks for me as well.
It was the first site of this kind I enjoyed, and I still think that in it's early days was the best site I have ever seen.
It has become a little more cumbersome to use, but still not too bad and has a lot of great info and links.
What I do not like about it now though is that with every post it does seem to be becoming more and more insular.
Not only with non-Port supporters, but anyone that has a different opinion.
wrt Vi, I have never met her, but she is a living legend.

I haven't posted there in over a year, not even a member. I was banned for my opinions on Collingwood, and the fact that I hated them (Collingwood) to much!! I also got told, that I did damage to the club and that I stopped people being members. Considering that our WA Membership base has grown from 80 to 275 members in the last 4 years I guess they must be right!! :mad:
I'am no sheep.....and they can be as Port Adelaide as they like, but they are no friends of mine......And yes I still HATE, YES HATE Collingwood with as much passion as I love Port Adelaide.....HATE the Crows as well!!
I wont pretend just to fit in with other peoples ideas, like me or hate me, it's no skin off my nose......With me, what you see is what you get.....here and if you meet me.......My mates that know me will vouch to that, and the staff at PAFC know that as well......I dont pull punches with no one. I love Port Adelaide and put my heart and soul and every spare god dam minute into it, and then someone who runs a ****y little web site thinks they are god.....pffffff....see now ya got me angry LOL LOL.

Ohhhh and on that comment PowerKop, I can speak for my self ok!! Its great you defend a club, but the Gang bu!!$hit was over the top......but thats only my thoughts on it. Why add fuel to a fire thats already burning out of control!!
We are the best, we know it....just dont give them ammo to use against us ALL!!

Very true. For all the silly abuse that broad based sites like this pull in at BF you don't have to say everything at Port is always rosy, or at other clubs is always bad. Not that that was/is a requirement at TPFP but certain posters made it seem so.

Deserves an enormous amount of credit. That site was like a psychiatrist's couch after our blown finals series in 2003. Vi and the other moderators absorbed a lot of sh*t from trolls and suchlike
Yep, great site. I go there first for views and news especially, then to here, then to the main board to see who is trolling us.
Love both sites at news times and in the season.

Here, here. I think its a great site. I don't have any problems accessing as others appears to have. It keeps me updated on all sorts of things that normally being here in Sydney I can't or wouldn't know.
Oh by the way PortProudWA, I'm with you - I can't stand Collingwood - even when I was a Port Adelaide magpies fan. I could never bring myself to support them and the only time I could feign interest is when the Port Magpies players were over there playing for them. I now absolutely cannot stomach them and if I have to see Eddie one more time, I think I will throw up (preferably all over Eddie).

PowerKop- i agree with thepowerfromport site. But i DO NOT agree with the way you handle yourself towards other supporters 'dissing' Port Adelaide. Once you handle yourself in a sensible way on this board you will not get any respect from myself and a few other people. Give up this whole trip about "defending" Port. You do not have defend Port when people diss them all the time. You do NOT have to be a troll. Give it up.

"Mark" actually does a lot of the behind the scenes work. Vi does mainly the news updates.
And yes, I used to be a moderator there.......

yeah ive never Met Vi either but shes helped me out with alot of stuff most of it not even to do with footy!so has mark their both lovely people and they do a great job of running the site

The whole site has been overhauled and I must say it looks sensational. Totall revamp and I think all the problems with the site have now been fixed. Would encourage everyone to have a look at it, and support it.

Much better to look at although now just have to find a few links that I knew on the old site that aren't obvious in the new layout.
Powerkop - seeing as you've been giving Vi's site a bit of promotion what name do you post under there as I don't believe I've seen the name Powerkop there before.

I post under Lewie15. Not a huge poster there - 316 posts, but just think its a fantastic site.
