what do you all think?
caro mentioned it on talking **** last night, and because caro bought it up it has no credibility what so ever, but hypothetically speaking would spider be an asset to essendon or a waste of time?

So long as the club were able to get him to pull his head in I think he'd be a great asset. I doubt we'd fit him under the cap though.

If he were to come to Essendon, he'd have to accept a contract that would be far less than the one he is currently under at the Saints. Yes, we do need a ruckman/forward of his ability, but we do not need his baggage. If Spider does want to play in a successful side (and i assume that is why he is not happy at the Saints), he will have to make several sacrifices. I doubt a character like Everitt would even contemplate it.

Who would St.Kilda want in return?

I'd be more than happy if we could snare Spider, but i doubt it will happen for the same reason Dave said.

That said,

* Barnes is gone at the end of this year

* I haven't seen enough of Hille

* I wouldn't want to rely on Alessio

* Lalich is looking better, but i wouldn't want to rely on him yet either.

What other option do we have? If we can get him, i'd be more than happy with it.

If that moron came to Essendon I'd have a long thought about renewing my membership.

I don't think Spider could do any worse than Lucas has this season. I can't understand why Sheedy keeps playing him. Well without Lloydy and Hirdy in the next two weeks it's time for Lucas to put his hand up. If he doesn't I reckon Sheedy should swap him for Spider. We need another good ruckman. By the way leave Caro along, she's brilliant!

Not convinced there Big Al. Having so many tall targets is one of the things that troubles opposing sides. If we get rid of Lucas, we get rid of one of those tall targets that "uses up" an opposing tall defender. Hence, the reason Sheedy keeps playing him every week. ;)

And remember, with so many good tall forwards, they can't all kick a bag every week.

As for Lucas putting his hand up this week, who even knows if Sheeds will play him down forward. :)

We need another good ruckman.

Another one? Who's the first one??? :D

Oh, Barnes! Ok.....and when he retires at the end of the year, we'll simply need A good ruckman. :)

Tell me you didn't just say that.

I don't care, who plays for us, and where we are on the ladder, I would never contemplate not renewing my membership.

I hope you didn't mean what you just said. I'm sure it was just a slip.
