While the loss of Carr and Stevens irks Williams, he was otherwise in an upbeat mood today and was pleased with Port's draft pickups.
He gleefully noted how the position of Port's table on draft day had slowly moved around the U-shaped set-up until this year, it was at the "top" of the room as the reigning premier.
"We've been gradually moving along....to get up here, it's terrific," he said.
"In fact, we've put our names on the seats where to come back to next year."
