I'm furious with Sky Sports at the moment, with the way they missed the start of the days play to show the ****ing NFL match (with was boring at **** anyway).

If anyone else in the UK is as ****ed off as me then feel free to write an email to the address below:

To whom it may concern,

I wish to bring up a sore point about last nights coverage of the Second Test between Australia and NZ (first day).

Why on earth was this game not shown from the start? Instead of watching the start of an entertaining days play we had the end of a boring NFL match that had its result already decided by the time the cricket was due to start (in fact there was no addition to the scores in the game in question).

To make matters worse, the NFL game was interactive, which means those who really did want to watch that game (although I wonder who did at that point) could have just pressed the red button to watch the end of the match and then the cricket could have been shown on the normal Sky Sports Xtra coverage. Either that or the start of the cricket could have been shown on another channel. Would it have mattered that greatly if 25 mins of the rolling Sport News channel went missing for a great start to the test match?

To cross over and find that Australia was 0/27 after 5 overs, and then to watch a few maidens was not the best way to start the cricket coverage at just before 1am. To say I was a little displeased is a gross understatement!!

I would have loved to have seen the start of the test, especially with the way that Langer started the game. But it's also great to see the start of a test match, especially at Adelaide Oval (I'll admit - I am biased in that aspect). But considering I stayed up till 12.30am to see the start of the game, and then find I have to wait over 20 mins before the cricket starts, and then to find we missed a great start to the game is not a good way to please cricket fans (Aussie or otherwise) in the UK.

I did take a look at the TV schedule to see if there were highlights of the days play, and I eventually did find it was on at 2pm and 6pm. Fine for those who don't have a day job, but it still means there's no way I'll see the start of the game.

I am bitterly disappointed with the way that Sky Sports has dealt with this issue. To miss a great start of a test match due to the end of a boring game (I could say that about NFL overall, but I am referring to the game in
question) is not a good way to cover a series you have exclusive coverage for. Either show it or let someone else do it properly.

Many thanks

I agree with your sentiments but they won't give a stuff, they even refuse to release viewing figures of the England test matches that they show because they're so low so I dread to think how low the figures are for Tests not involving England played through the night.

I'm of the view that we're pretty fortunate to get to see a lot of world cricket on Sky, it's not that long ago that you'd get to see bugger all of even England on tour.

Dunno how long you've been over here but wait till you're watching England playing Australia on C4 on a Saturday afternoon next summer during say a bit of Flintoff trying to give a bit of biff to Warne & they switch to the racing, now that's a bummer.

Still remember how in 1990 BBC cut to some meaningless horse race & missed Goochie make his 300 against India (that's when triple centuries were a genuine rarity).
