I see in this morning's HS that Terry will be giving the youth a go - but not to the point where we will be 'uncompetitive.' Er, so what are we at the moment?? I know, this is rehashing the same old issue of Terry's handling of young players. But when it comes to being uncompetitive, what would you rather see? A bunch of young kids with a future being overwhelmed by experience, or a bunch of the same old faces being overwhelmed by footballing ability?

It's a tough one, but I'd baulk at the idea that some players will be playing for their future in the last three rounds (as reported in the HS). Give a player an ultimatum like that, and they might just pull a couple of reasonable games out of the bag near the end of the season. But where's the use in that? Now, I don't think Terry IS that naive. When it comes to the end-of-season review, I don't think that a player's lack of disposal skills, or inability to get near the ball for most of his career, will be saved by a couple of redeeming games when his ar*e his absolutely on the line?? Na Terry, some of 'em have had their chance. Enough! Play the toddlers.

I agree WWB. Even though I haven't seen any matches since early last year, this crop of youngsters sounds exciting. Murphy sounds like a real goer and will probably be one of my favourites when I return. I guess I'm going to have to catch up with all of the new players and their numbers! Gosh, I still automatically think of 31 as Templeton and 29 as Cordy!

I'm optimistic and looking forward to 2002 - with ME at the matches! Doggie Social Club, here I come!
