To mee seems amazing that he can bat right-handed but throw left-handed.
Or is it not a big deal as he bowls left as well.

If he bowls left I'd suggest that is his natural throwing arm.

I have a mate who bats left but bowls/throws right, and he is not so amazing:)

How ambi-dextrous are you guys?

I am right handed and couldn't throw a ball more than 2 metres with my left.

I think you will find most of these who bat with the other hand that they bowl with also have crappy off-hands. Maybe it is just practice as a kid.

I can't remember if it is Connors or MacEnroe - but as a left handed kid they were forced to tie their left had behind their back and play tennis with the right because lefties were freaks!!

Those who bat with the other hand than they bowl are usually lefty bowlers and righty batters, because as a kid they saw right handed batsmen and copied them, not realising they should be the other way.

Given you are meant to use your top hand dominant in cricket batting, I wish I'd been taught to bat left handed because I always get into too-much-bottom-hand trouble.

It's not a big deal.

Hayden and Langer both throw (and ocassionally bowl) with their right arm.

I bat right-handed but bowl and throw left-handed, am hopeless when trying to use my right arm in everyday life though (literally have the strength and co-ordination of a girl in my right arm).

I can bat left-handed, but find it too restrictive.
When batting i rely heavily on my top hand for my power and flexibilty (to play cuts and the like), so i have no real choice but to bat right-handed.

I'm the same as Clarke. It's just the way I was born - batting left-handed never felt comfortable as a kid.

I too bat left hand, but throw right. I dont think it really matters, you use both hands to bat. I did know someone who could only bowl left handed but but only throw right handed. Work that one out.

One of my best mates, a former Melb. Uni 1st X1 player bats and bowls right handed but writes with his left hand.

Henry Gunstone, a Victorian country cricket legend batted right handed, could bowl right arm med. and left arm slow orthodox and could throw both hands.

It is obviously not as uncommon as it seems. Even amongst the Australian team there are others who do it.

I also know someone who bats left handed, but bowls/throws right handed

don't people change from right handed batting to left handed as it gives them an advantage to bat left handed ?

I can't bat to save myself batting left handed (a step down from being terrible with my right hand)...so it certainly isn't an advantage to me.
