If they had a full squad the would give it a shake.
Remember they did beat a class act in England to win the ICC Trophy

This England team will only be judged by their perfomances against Australia, until then...

I thank you Hawkk. I really needed a good laugh. A class act doesn't get beaten in big games.

So Australia aint a class act then?
That same England side who defeated the NSW/Aus team in the semis? Of course if the selectors werent so stupid Aus would never have lost

Im a Windies fan and would love to see them a force again but I think we still need to give them 2-3 years. But Gayle, Sarwan, Powell, Edwards and co, are exciting prospects and will shape the future of West Indies cricket.

The West Indies have a good top order with Gayle, Lara and Sarwan. They have plenty of new ball bowling options though they tend to rotate them around a lot looking for bowlers in form and their young bowlers have a lot of injury problems. They have a good allrounder now in Bravo who can take wickets and Powell is going to be great to watch. They still lack a good spinner and haven't quite settled on an opening partner for Gayle or a keeper. Lots of switching between Browne and Baugh.
I would rate Pakistan slightly ahead of them due to the current good form of the allrounders Malik, Razzaq and Afridi. But I think we will see a tight series.

Of course the Ashes is the defining event in the calender of English cricket but it's harsh to say that we will ONLY be judged on performances against Australia.
If we consistently beat everyone else but lose to Australia, we can still be relatively satisfied when you consider where we came from 5 years ago(bottom of the Test rankings) & that this Australian side is one of the best ever.

I think Jacobs has been retired from international duty but the selectors. He was still in pretty good form with the bat and I don't think either of his replacements have done better, but it's all about building for the next world cup! Jacobs and Drakes both got Bevaned out of the team for younger players.
