because if you lose to our depleted mob on sunday you could miss out on the finals. :D i know it's probably just wishfull thinking on my behalf but it's not out of the question when you consider your patchy form.

lard arse lance must have had a few sleepless nights, an accidental shepherd 20 meters off the ball that knocks a player unconscious, hmmm. i wonder whether barry hall would have have got off scott free.

i'm glad he's playing anyway, and it's not that i admire his explosive pace and high leaping marking skills, it's simply because you lot will have no excuses when you lose and i will have a very large and easy target to heckle. ;)

last week was the first game in a while that i have actually enjoyed watching the saints play, if we can put the jitters up your mob like we did to port i'd be happy.

if you do happen to beat us and big jack refrains from calling us a pathetic rabble and your supporters can show a bit of humility by not boooing hamill i just might lend my support to your mob in the finals. i think i'm safe though.

good luck
the best team will win

I always knew you had a soft spot for the mighty Blues STL!

I won't be bagging Hamill again. He is showing some real character and I wish him and the Saints well (except for this week of course).

You are right about Blues fans being nervous I think. We would have lost to every AFL side on Saturday night the way we played. Just hoping it was yet another aberration and we have no more aberrations in our system.

I'm not nervous. But I wasn't nervous about the Adelaide game either.

i went away the day after we played essendon and was still away when we plaed adelaide, i told myself before we went that if we lost to adelaide i would i die, i didn't die, i've decided it's not worth it, we are definately not as good as we were last year but we still have a chance, can beat half of the top 8 teams i think and thats not too bad, i think i just have higher expectations, when i found out how much we were losing by last saturday night i screamed but by the end of the game i expected a loss and was glad i didn't have to see it, this sunday i will see it and if don't beat st kilda, and beat them properly-that means playing WELL- then i've decide we don't deserve to make the finals and i won't care how we go the rest of the season...except we have to beat collingwood, no way will they beat us twice in a year...

congrats to your blokes, in the end you just had more class out on the ground than our mob.

you still must have been nervous for 3.5 1/4s though, and who knows what would have happened if the umpire had of paid that obvious free kick against sos on hamill when we were 11 points behind.

apart from the win you must have been happy with kouta's last 1/4, he showed glimpses of the dominating form of last year, if he can stay/get fit your lot might be able to make an impact in the finals. gehrig was sent to the forward line to try and win the game but it had the opposite effect because it released kouta to run amok.

i was happy with bakers tagging role on ratten to keep the competitions best onballer to 17 possessions whilst picking up 17 himself was great for the young fella, he's 19 and already has a few big scalps to his name. i didn't know whether to laugh or cry when cadyn beetham went for a leisurely wander with the ball for 30 seconds and politely waited to get tackled, what he was thinking is anyones guess. milne was great too, he's a real livewire and impossible to tackle, takes a good grab too, nearly.

our boy aaron, talk about strength of character, with all that has gone on over the last few weeks/year and the constant attention he got from your unruly mob on and off the field, i thought he played a teriffic game. presented himself well, chased, tackled, harassed did all the things that your lot need in your forward line to win the flag. ;)

odn, i could never have a soft spot for carlton, in fact i would rather chew on glass, swallow it and p*ss it out than ever barrack for your lot, but for your sake and all other fair minded blues supporters i wish you luck in the finals. :D

At the time, I couldn't agree more. However, I went home and watched the replay and the ump
definitely made the right decision, the commentators saying so as well. They showed an angle from behind the contest, before Silvagni had even touched Hamill, Hamill was holding Silvagni's
jumper, and continued to do so until SOS took the mark. Play on was the correct call.

i won't have it blues2001, with all due respect to you and the ch7 commentators (probably robbo), i was sitting at least 200 meters away and had about 6 or 7 beers in, but i saw the incident as clear as day, it was definately a free kick to hamill. in fact the only reason the saints lost was because of those moronic white imbeciles and theres nothing you or anyone else can say to convince me otherwise. ;)

i, too, was sitting very close ot this incident but i thought the ump made the right decision, it seemed both hammil and SOS were holding each other, hammil haveing the forst grab, however my sister sitting next to me disagreed and thought it proabbly should have been a free kick
whether it should or should not have been a free to st kilda doesn't matter
like the bounce of the ball-you can't control what the umpoire does during the game and like the bounce of a ball yo can't blame a win or loss on it because n matter how mush yo complain and say 'what if' it won't change and nothing you can do or say will change that!
