View Full Version : Joseph Kriger?
Anyone know anything about our first rookie pick?
He went to school at Mentone Grammer this year with my brother. I will ask my brother about him and post about him tonight.

From the Drafts and Trading Board:
Posted by GOALden Hawk: Krieger is a 191cm, 83kg player who is also VERY raw but exciting. I'm pleased a club took a punt on him - could be absolutely nothing but has some real AFL qualities. Is incredibly aggressive at the ball (almost overzealous) and has a massive leap.
Came from Mentone Grammar and only played a few games late in the season for Sandringham. Probably only a slim chance of making it but could be a very good player if you get lucky.

Thought Kreiger had a really good finals series playing on a wing for Sandringham. Was certainly amongst their best 2-3. I would have thought he would be a tallish winger/flanker more than a key position prospect.

krieger attended my skool
decent ruck who can play forward too
only problem he is a bit skinny
if he goes to the gym a bit he could be decent and maybe get some games under his belt
good luck joey

It's just one of those days, I thought I was quite polite .....
I know people love to shorten words ala texting, but you must admit some postings are very hard reading because they suffer from being one massive paragraph, or the spelling is horendous.
Oh well back to skuel for me.
My brother didnt really say much about Kriger. He said hes a hard nut who has reasonable pace and skills. He also so said that he loves to surf and thats pretty much all that Joe does. From the couple of school games that i saw Joe played in the ruck against guys that were taller than him and he beat them most of the time becasue he has a massive leap.

Well we can certainly put a positive spin on this, can't we!
I'm liking the sound of this lad.

83kg isn't terribly skinny. Sure he needs to hit the gym, but Polak started the year at 85kg and is a couple of cm taller than Freddy Krieger. Polak certainly didn't dominate but was able to contribute.
don't like the sound of him. Sounds like a player that dominates school football because he is tall
Not happy with who the dockers picked up.

Nothing like a random assumption on a rookie list player now is there?
He's a young bloke on our rookie list who is very raw. How about you give 'em a chance?

I'll take a punt on Smarty's research rather than your blind assumptions.
Everyone's an expert these days.

Voodoo - that why posts are so good. Just wish CC was, when it comes to footy.
Agree that Kriger worth a punt. Got some size and maybe a forward which we so badly need.

We shouldn't expect so much from him, especially when you look at how long clubs give the majority of their draft picks to mature. Give him a couple of years in the WAFL to learn how to play MEN'S football instead of the KIDDIE'S stuff he's used to and he might come off. If not, who cares.

Is he getting a kick in the WAFL anyone want to comment on his progress?

Funny you should ask. Up until today the news wasn't good. Playing WAFL resies and not getting amongst it, however today he was his teams best player. Only resies but progress all the same.

He is making good progress on the AFL site's dream team competition
