Would have to be considered one of Freo's best trading periods in so far as they have actually recruited the players that were required to fill the deficiencies.

Now if only they have the right forward combination and it fires ....

Three established players out:
Snake
Clive
T-Lo

Three established players in:
Carr
Black
Schofield

Different types of players, different positions, but given our needs and the basic class of each player, you'd have to say:

Ins >>> Outs

(Snake as a good quality tall being the only possible contentious one IMO).

As for the rest of them, well only time will tell. We do know that none of Cunningham, Doswell, Edgecumbe or Colreavy are losses of any kind for us, so if only one of these 4 new young guys makes it, then we have come out on top there also.

All-in-all, an outstanding trading / drafting period for what we needed.

nothing really, talk to a few people about it, but none of them are involved at AFL level. I think the generally feeling was we should have gone for WA players. I was hoping to pick up one of the SA Key position prospects. From what i have heard one of them could have step straight into senior football.

But these virtually unproven ( could be anything) kids, we picked up may be alright in a couple years.

I am no expert, my opinion are formed from what i read, or someone tells me

My opinion is that is what rookie draft is all about , you take a punt on the kids that are raw and that could be anything. Sandilands is a perfect example.

I'm happy with our trading this year, we've gone for experience over youth, which is good considering we already have a fair few kids in the side.

In all I think we came out pretty even. The loss of simmons and Tlo is actually significant. I have reviewed a few games recently and paid special note to their contributions. However the new additions should make up for them and in an area we needed to improve.

On paper it looks good - time will tell. Just need Black, Carr and Scoffield to step up and put in and not a "Dessie". Haines was one I definetly did not agree with but good luck to him.

I believe Scoffield is going to really add something, as he has surprised me on how he always seems to get on his own and really carries the ball well. Just hope he does this at Freo.

Rookies - still sitting on the fence but would have liked Wilkes and Thornton.
The ****** up the road shared my view by picking them up.

Also hoping that Murphy, Mundy and Dunn step up, to provide a bit more depth.
