IMO.... the Test team. But this may suggest otherwise....
Test Team
Last 50 Tests:
Wins: 35
Losses: 8
Draws: 7
W%: 70.0%
Avg per Wicket For: 44.4
Avg per Wicket Agst: 28.5
One Day Team
Last 50 One Dayers:
Wins: 39
Losses: 9
No Result: 2
W%: 79.0%
Avg per Wicket For: 39.5
Avg per Wicket Agst: 23.8
Those are phenomonal records. Absolutely remarkable. 70% winning record in their last 50 Tests, and 79% record in their last 50 One Dayers.
silky: factor out draws and no results and its 81% for both.
I'd go with the Test side. I suspect most of those losses were in dead rubbers too. And the middle order collapses in the last couple of one-dayers are sticking in my mind.
That said, we're definitely a much more consistent one-day side than we were six years or so ago.

Just think there is better application from the Test side- these guys are into it for four or five days, whereas hacks like Lee can come and do their 10 overs and then go home. The ODI side is dominant, no question, but the Test side has been on top for yonks, and will continue to be. Also, although it wasn't asked, I'd much rather see the Test side in full cry- pity the opposition is pi$$ weak these days.....

the only challenger would be England and we'll still beat them 5-0 next year (well 4-1 since the last one will be dead as will the 4th test)
i said One day team because well no reson just that the ODI team is on 136 points and the Test team is 130 points
why not bring in Australia A?

on those stats we are better at one-dayers
I'd rather look at the matches lost than matches won. Only losing 8 test matches in 50 is unbelievable, and I'd reckon most of those were dead rubbers in test series already won.
After winning the test series so convincingly in India this year and not winning the ICC Champions Trophy I'd give it to the test team.

Yeah, Brilliant Pies, on stats maybe. But stats or numbers don't prove as much as that.
What if the Test team had 10 wins from 12 games, and the One Day Team had 9 wins from 13 games. Yet 3 of the One Day Team's losses were by less then 4 runs, and the Test team lost their 2 games by more than 100 runs?
Then that throws the cat amongst the pigeons.
