I loved Nick Daffy's recent quote prior to Richmond's board election....
"There are a lot of past players who I played with for 10 years and 90 per cent
of them have no confidence in Clinton Casey at all"
er hem.....*deliberate!! puts hand up like old school days*
"Excuse me Mr Daffy"....
"I watched you play football for 10 years, and 90 per cent of the time
I hand no confidence in you doing the right thing OR the team thing!!!"

When it came to "taking one for the team", Daffy would always be the first person to put his hand up!!

Frawley Flash-back.
Richmond's Matthew Knights has reiterated his disappointment at being asked to retire, but said he'd be delighted if the Tigers won next year's premiership.
Knights, who will play his 279th and last AFL game against Essendon on Friday night, said he disagreed with coach Danny Frawley's thoughts there wasn't a spot for him at Punt Road next year.

Daffy would always be the first person to put his hand up!!
The question is "up what"? I would never shake his hand for that reason lol

Who is that holding Knights up on the right?????????.
I recognize the bloke on the left as I often wished he would be carried away until finally was.
Title the picture - A player amongst Duds.

wh@nckerSeem to remember Daffy coming on in a Final, against Carlton i think, and putting his body in front of an oncoming pack at a crucial time, dislocating his shoulder, ending his season while Richmond won but being lauded for his courage and selflessness afterwards. You wonder where you guys get the reputation for eating your own..? Think i know who the "Wh@ncker" is pal..! Aren't retired players allowed opinions..!?

thats was in 2001 against carlton in the Semi Final, which we won!! :D
what good times they were
Daffy had his flaws (major flaws) but he was one of the better players we had in the mid to late 90's.
Up there with Simon Tregenza for being the only player to NEVER look where he is kicking, even when having a set shot for goal, lol.

Yeah, was 4 days after September 11. Osama Bin Laden then put a hex on us and we've been crap ever since.
Osama Bin Laden = Helen Demidenco.
ps - Nick Daffy plays the back nine. True story.

daffy had 2 good years in 94-95 quickly gaining a repuatation for kicking goals straight from the clacker..i recall a couple of rippers....last Round 94 v geelong optus oval...full house....cats in front by 4 or 5 goals ...the tiges kick a couple after half time to draw within a couple of goals then Daffy snaps an absolute ripper to close within 10 points...that ol stand at optus was shakin to the foundations at the prospect of a first finals appearance since 82....for the record the cats kicked clear in last qtr to win by 30 odd points...kicked another beauty against the lions in 94/95 that was memorable...
then as soon as he came he went..fading into oblivion only to be rekindled as a self made entrepreneur...hope he remembers who made him.what he is..

Hey Frantic......(Cause that's how quickly u jump to your ill-formed opinion)
You base Daffy's career on the one thing u noticed about it?
You thing Daffy had a great career cause he got crunched once?
(In Daffy's case that's called not being able to get out of the way)
Daffy was an opportunistic player who hurt us more than not with
his lack of team play and manning up...
For the few good goals Daffy kicked, there was hundreds of times he
blasted away and ignored better positioned team mates....
Retired players are allowed opinions.....specially when they are ironic......lol
Frantic....u loser......open ur big lamo mouth when u have watched a player
more than once in his career...
Season after season I watched Daffy....in the stands....
And you call yourself a fanatic.......hah........
blow me!

Daffy may have been a bit of a flash in the pan, but he is a decent person and a good bloke. Fudgepacker or not.

SaveFeriss,
This is a football forum...
I guess the 'decent person and good bloke' site is somewhere else....
(and as for any Fudgepacker sites......ur guess is as good as mine)
Part of my membership paid his wages each week......so judging his
footballing benefits to Richmond.......
he was crap...
(I don't care whether he goes to church either.......I'm just viewing his
football career..........very average)

His career went down after Malthouse labelled him the best half forward in the competition.
