View Full Version : An Enforcer!

It's what we're missing.
Not that the last 20 years has seen many tough players at Tigerland, it seems we are totally left without any toughnuts atm with enough experience to throw around his weight.
We're going to be a very small and light side next year, and will easily be pushed aside in many games.
Where are we going to find an enforcer? IS there anyone on our list at the moment that has that mongeral in em?
I like Daniel Jackson, but I think he will be more a leader type in the Voss mould (well aim high). Can just see it in him. He will be tough and determined, but cant see any real enforcer in him. More the inspirer.
Can Andrew Kellaway develop a mean and nasty streak for his last few years. Letting the young lil fellas know there's someone right there to back em up?
Because Im a bit worried we're gonna look like a schoolboy team and will just be out muscled all year.
Thoughts?
yep i agree........we are going to get bullied out there.....thats why Zantuck and Fleming would have been alright to have. But i reckon Staff & Johnson will protect the young ones
Looks like Chaffey may be the one asked to play the role
Stafford can do it when he's fit and not suspended too

Mal michael could take care of those guys all by himself.
I hope there's a real toughnut or two in the kids coming through... A real madman, but a madman who can play.

I dont know anything about Polo, but if he's the type to make the opposition think twice before pummelling our little guys then fantastic.
God Im looking foward to the next few years.
Richo doesn't have that evil streak in him, but he is pretty psychotic and can lay a good bump on someone if need be. I hope he becomes a bit more of a meaner prik when he has to be guarding the likes of Tambling in the forward line.

I didnt even consider Richo, but he plays on passion and does have the potential to absolutley make train wrecks out of even the biggest opposition players.
There was a game this year, or last year, we he had someone lined up perfectly and you could see he didnt have an eye for the ball. The evil had kicked in.. but at the very last moment his conscience kicked in and he eased up a little.
Its there.. Perhaps they can get someone like Jacko (Mark) in his face for 5 hours a day just turning him into a frothing, rabie like pounding machine.
He has that side to him, it's just his softer side wins most battles. A testament to his fairness.
lmfaoooo Super Grass, you are right.
I think Richo needs to feel he is wronged before he can let out his mean streak on the opposition. I think he has an untapped reservoir of rage that can be opened and all hell will break lose. But i'm not sure we'll ever see it. He has an even bigger reservoir of kindness.

Yeah he's just a big softie. But I see myself in him alot, and know I have the ability to go off tap in a fit of rage when something works me up.. Its just my conscience and/or empathy stop me from crossing 'that' line.
I reckon Richo is similar.
Wouldn't mind seeing him play Full Back against the Dons in an Enforcer type role ;)
Hopefully someone tries (unsuccesfully) to knock him out in a grand final in a couple of years time and he goes absolutely Norman Bates.

Yes.. Much rather Norman Bates than Alastair lynch style.
At least Bates was scary.

pfft.
Zantuck is a softcok.
He found one of the smallest blokes in the league and smacked his head on the ground a couple times...

A Jono Brown would be nice. Just plan scary.
I agree with this thread, we need 'an enforcer'.
Polo is sposed to have abit of nutcase about him, If you get Richo angry he would kill someone, Patto is sposed to be a monster and still growing...
However, we are overly looking Simmonds. Absolute unit of a man and would beat anyone in a fight. (+ he has snakes! )

No chance, too nice a guy, plays the game as fair as anyone, just like his brother did. Very courageous, but would never go after anyone.

Yeah we should get Jacko as a part time assistant coach
Richo, not actually an enforcer...but if you happen to get between him and the ball watch out! Round 1 last year against the Pies, Burns, I think it was, made this mistake and basically couldn't function for the rest of the game - LMAO.
Polo is supposed to be a hard nut and I don't think I'd like to mess with either Staff or Simmonds - the 2 big S's.
I think I'd actually like the whole team to play tough, instead of just relying on one or two.
Troy Simmonds has some martial arts blackbelt - may as well be him.
Somehow can't see Petticoat or Joelene doing it lol

Mark Graham?
hehehe
hyde will be one to watch.... although he isnt big he is training dirty. im sure we'll see some roughness in him next year. stafford is another one.... not that he can get around a lot but in the forward line i can definately see him doing some big bumps after leading. one more is david rodan..... he is nice guy but the way he is training he is looking like he will play a rougher game style next year..... doin plenty of bumps at training...... for those that only went to the last training day that was nothing compared to normall training.... much rougher. i can see us being a tough side next year as we once were before! :D
pfft.

Agreed , absolute tryhard ......said it a few times , what he did to Williams was as weak as p..s .
RALMAOOOOOO@ Richo and Chaffey "THE ENFORCERS"
Mark Lee was the last genuine enforcer we had , i would nearly put "the Flea" in that basket as well . That little man did not put up with any crap
**************s like Goodwin , Wilson do not count

Forward thinking ey?
A Grand Final in a couple of years time?
Richmond actually making the finals?
Actually doing it before Richo Retires?

Cant say it does really, i mean you guys let us have a chance in 1998 bombing out against Melbourne in round 22, so i kinda got over it.
Just funny to see someone suggesting you guys will be in the grand final in a couple of years, then again, i guess you never know.
On a different note, congrats on the new/old jumper.
Looks alot better.
