top 6 i'd say, i expect Miller to have a career making year, and Sylvia, Bell and McLean to become regular senior players.

If this is the sad end to broadys life, touch wood its not, this season alone will be played for him and we will be inspired for a top 4 finish, they say you cant play of emotion every week, but this is a different story this emotion will be around for 3 or 4 years.
i reckon we'll sneak into the 8, the Troy thing (especially if he doesnt return) may take a different approach for us, it may not inspire us at all

hmm the troy thing is terrible not only 4 the major reasons but also every one of our odd years something unsettling has been going on leading up 2 the season and well this is it. Imagine one of your mates not returning from Thailand what sorta reaction could you expect from a player my guess is they would all be devastated.

Unfortunately I think you make a valid point :(
I think the opposite. I reckon they'll really show some heart and pride for a mate. I'd love to see them dedicate every game and win to Broady, that includes when Neita holds up the premiership cup.
we can only hope that Troy still makes it back to Australia alive

For what its worth, i think that the Demons over achieved last year. This opinion is based on the fact that you lost your last how many games?. I think that you'll finish between 8-12.
In my opinion the loss of Troy will have one of two impacts on the club. Either they will come together and have a really good year playing for his memory or the players will have an ordinary season struggling to overcome with what has happened.
If i was a melbourne player/member i would be looking at the Victorian Cricket side for strength, who last year lost there coach David Hookes about a month before the end of the season. They went on to win the Title and dedicated the victory to him. If the Vics could do it, Melbourne have to have some faith that they can also do it.
I am a Brisbane member but would now love to see Melbourne have a great season.

Sadly, I am inclined to agree with this assessment. I would certainly love to see the Dees break the 'odd year' cycle, but I do not think this will be the year for it to happen. I think all the boys will be understandably devastated by Troy's death. I doubt that this fateful blow will provide any positive impetus. I hope the Dees prove me wrong...but I will understand if they do not.
