It certainly puts into perspective football rivalries at a moment like this. Hope all 3 are safe and back in Australia as soon as humanly possible.

I am not a dees fan, richmond here. Am hoping that there is some good news regarding Troy. Forget football for just a few days - pray for all the families of the thousands.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Troy is as tough as nails, so we can't give up hope.

Couldn't have put it better if i tried. Lets hope that what ever the outcome Troy will be found and his new bride, family, friends, team mates, the Melbourne Football club and their supporters and the football community as a whole can have closure or celebration, on what for me has also been rough having only 10 hours ago found out my cousin who was on Phi Phi Island has been found safe, in a hospital but safe... so there is still hope.

If worst comes to worst - and we obviously still hope like hell it won't - I suggest we retire the #20.

Yeah, lets think positively though, forget worst case scenario
What did his wife say, wasn't he with her?
if he got swept out to sea sheesh... Problems...
I really hope he is ok though.
Best wishes for the safe return of Troy to his wife and family. My thoughts are with them, the MFC and footy people in general. Its a truly sad situation and I pray it has a happy ending.

My thoughts are with Troy and all people as yet unaccounted for in this terrible disaster.
What did his wife say, wasn't he with her?
if he got swept out to sea sheesh... Problems...
I really hope he is ok though.
Troy was there on a honeymoon with his wife and he saved her, threw her onto a balcony and then got washed away to sea...
Although I'm fearing for the worst, I'll still keep faith until I hear the official word.

All Football rivalries aside
To the Melbourne Football Club, The players, Administration, Support Staff and the supporters themselves, the hearts of the other 15 clubs go out to you during this difficult time.
What a truly admirable act of courage that can only reflect on what has been bred into the lad down at the MFC - Shows just how strong a unit both mentally and physically this club is.
To the Broadbridge family, I truly pray that Troy is safe and here's hoping he can return to the Demons lineup and continue to improve and grow into a great player - he deserves it.
Keep your heads held high dees supporters, he has the great tradition supporting him all the way. Good luck Broada and his family, you have our utmost best wishes.
Its a grand old flag
Its a high flying flag
Its the emblem for me and for you
Its the emblem of the team we love
The team of the red and the blue
Ev'ryheart beats true
For the red and the blue
And we sing this song to you
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
Keep your eye on the red and the blue
Good Luck Troy
Everytime a big time disaster occurs it makes me feel so lucky to live in this country. My well wishes go out to everyone involved in this disaster. As has been said it hits even harder when someone you know even through only watching them on TV playing a sport is involved.
I also feel for you passionate Melbourne supporters. Petty rivalries and stereotypes aside, if you are passionate about your club and it's players, you must feel very sick about this tradgedy.

Things like this put into perspective the little things that we are all so passionate about, such as winning a game of football. We go home feeling down if we lose or upbeat if we win. We come on forums such as this and argue and squabble as opposing supporters about things which when you think about it don't mean a whole lot in the big scheme of things. Our thoughts and prayers as fans and as people go with Troy Broadbridge and anyone affected by this terrible tragedy. Let's hope for some good news, some real news,'cause when you think about it,as much as we love it,footy is rather miniscule isn't it!

Apparently Channel 7 has retracted their claim that Broadbridge has been found alive.
Apparently it is only unfomfirmed news at this stage.
I would hope that he is found safe and well, as i know i would be gutted if one of my team's players were in this sort of situation.
Just thought I would come on and offer my best wishes. It's a time for football rivalries to be put aside, and while our thoughts have to be with Troy and his family I also know how hard this will be hitting Dees supporters.
Really hope this one of thousands of terrible stories turns out well for you all.
Best wishes on Troy being alive and found.
My thoughts go out to his family and the Melbourne Football Club.
Shocking news , thoughts are with all associated with Troy , particularily his new bride ......... it is just unimaginable what it would be like for her at the moment .
puts life into perspective dosen`t it
I hope he is found alive and well

I would also like to say that I hope with all my heart that Troy is okay and wish him and his family all the best in this heartbreaking time.
he saved his wife to put his own on the line, terrific bloke and hope he returns home and continues a great AFL career
The whole thing is just a horrific tradgedy. However, I'm sure that if he has, God forbid, been killed, his passing was not in vein. Heard that he was swept out to sea after saving the life of his wife.
Absolute tragedy. Wishing his wife and family luck in these troubled times.

to all the officials, members, staff and players of the Demons,

Hope he comes back. It will be a packed stadium if he does. Best Wishes with Troy and his family.
Very close to home to hear this latest tragedy and with a AFL player involved is a BIG DOWNER. Hoping for a miracle return still.
I think hes gone..
Yeah, what a great educated guess that is...[/sarc]
I think i can say on behalf of all Cat fans, we hope that Troy is alright. reality would suggest that it is likely that he is gone, hoping for the best though of course. Melbourne is the oldest club, the Cats are the second oldest club, we have a ton of history together and our clubs are very well respected between supporters and admin on both sides. Again wishes and prayers are with Troy and family at this time.
yeh, sadly i think he is gone

The Demons resume training tomorrow at Trevor Barker Oval at 9.30 am.
Members and supporters of the club, and other footy followers are welcome to come down and offer their support.
For those of you who aren't sure and would like to come down, Trevor Barker Oval is located on Beach Road, Sandringham. A quick look on the web suggests it isn't too far from Sandringham train station. Check your street directory or http://www.street-directory.com.au if you want more details.
As a Melbourne supporter, I would like to thank the fans of the other AFL clubs for their messages of support in this difficult time.
My thoughts go out to Troys family and to his wife and her family. Just a terrible terrible thing to happen. Dont give up hope yet.
I echo all comments.
Very sad news, hope he some how pulls through.

R.I.P. Troy, By the sounds of your teammates you wern't only a top footballer but a champion bloke, deepest sympathies to the Melbourne Football Club and the Broadbridge family.
P.S. According to Troy's "Fan File" on melbournefc.com.au his favorite Karaoke song is "Better Man - Pearl Jam", the chorus of this song reads "can't find a better man" and according to many people at Melbourne Football Club you couldn't find a better man than Troy.

I only met Troy once, at an aftermatch last season. He was standing down the back of the room while the majority of the list were onstage accepting the plaudits. I said to him "You should be up there too Troy", he grinned shyly & said "Nah it's not for me" & I think that summed him up. He was a normal, humble guy who gained the respect of his teammates & friends for how he was on & off the field.
He'll be missed at the MFC for so many reasons, but it pales in comparison to how he'll be missed by those closest to him. I'd say you couldn't find a better man to be honest.
