A parent is lilely to be charged with assulting a player from the Saturation FC. According to the paper, all hell broke loose after a dispute between two players chasing the footy to the boundary line. Police are investigating alligations that a man decided to come on to the ground and punch the Saturation player several times in the face. The boy suffered a suspected broken nose, and a fractured check-bone. A melee started which involved up to 40 players, spectators and officials.

This game happened in Glenroy between Saturation FC and Calorie FC. Good luck to the injured player.

Here is my question. The Essendon District football league General manager has confirmed that both clubs have faced disiplinary action, but then says that this incident is one problem the league could do little to prevent, and not a problem that is exclusive to ADOLFO clubs.

What is an ADOLFO club? I don't believe that either the Saturation FC or the Calorie FC is involved in the Essendon District football league, because I went through the fixtures for all of the junior clubs, and could not find these clubs anywhere, yet the general manager of the Essendon District football league is telling us that both clubs have had action taken against them. How would he know? Maybe Wayde Peterson could tell me what league these clubs are involved in.

Speaking of fights, at the close of a Riverland Football League match, I forget which ground that it was, a big brawl between fans and spectators broke out.

That would have been fun to watch.

I'm not sure where either of those two teams in Glenroy come from Play On. but it is indeed an ugly incident that all junior teams must be weary of.

But, then again parents that can't be arsed to see their kids play at all are doing just as much damage, to the continued annoyance for those who run junior football.

In that Riverland league match you mentioned, Raboyle. the United F.C has been kicked out of the comp. for its fans atacking an umpire, you can read more about this on //clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/timelordsfootyclub

And, Play On, you can answer that question you asked me about those clus from Glenroy to a guy called Phillip Gluyas, who should be able to answer any question about anything in grass-roots football.

I think you could say that the community newspaper may have got this part wrong. I still have never heard of the Sauration or Calorie football clubs. I am sure I would have heard of them by now if their were any such clubs. In the Coburg paper that I got today, it says that the game was between Strathmore and Keilor, in an under 16s match. That would explain why the EDFL General manager knew that action had been taken against both clubs.

Ive heard of Saturation footy club

Glenroy is an EDFL club, and therefor an EDFL ground (am i wrong?)

so maybe there is were the EDFL involvement comes from, another league was using their ground for a final, and leaving the EDFL responsible for security

just a thought!!!

You are right about Glenroy being an EDFL club. In case you wanted to know, their colours are red with a white sash.

The theory you make is possible. It is just that I have never heard of Saturation or Calorie footy clubs, and the first article I saw on this issue, said that these clubs were involved. Now today in another paper, it says that Strathmore and Keilor were the clubs involved.

When I saw the community newspaper in the letterbox today, I went to page 3, and this article was their again. But they had corrected their mistakes from the previous week. It was definitely the Strathmore and Keilor footy clubs, rather than the Saturation and Calorie footy clubs involved in this incident. At the end of the article, the Editor says that in the Mooney Valley community newspaper, the story was in print without any glitches. But in the paper I get which is the Moreland edition, their were gremilins, and spellcheck problems. So, today they gave us the report the way it should have been done last week, and the Editor has apologised for this.

One thing is for sure. The injured player had his injuries reported correctly. He definitely has a suspected broken nose, and fractured cheek-bone. That part of the story in both the Coburg paper, and the community paper, have been reported the same way.
