I really do hate Hauritz.
I have never liked him as a cricketer.
Against West Indies in the Ist One Day Match when Brian Lara was belting him every where, he did not once try to.....
* Mix up the pace.
* Put the ball in a different spot on the pitch.
* Give the ball a bit of flight.
* Bowl a different ball.
Instead he.....
* Was scared to try something different.
* Was intimidated
* And did nothing different, AT ALL!
And i thought to myself "O.K., he is bowling against Lara, one of the best batters the world has ever seen, he can be excused."
Then against Pakistan yesterday (Wednesday 12/01/05) he dropped the easiest catch, really it was easy, no pressure or anything. He went down on one knee, didnt watch the ball, and let it go passed him with out giving it chase. He didnt need to go down on one knee, he could have caught it at stomach height quite easily.
Then when Pakistan played some shots down to Third Man where he was fielding the attempts to stop 4 runs was pathetic. Lazy and Pathetic would be the way i would described it. Letting a few boundries go to the Pakistanis when it wasnt even there.
Then he came onto bowl to an out of form Paki middle order, and started off O.K. but as I said that was to an out of form Paki middle order. Then suddenly he did exactly what he did with Lara. Had no variation, no flight, NOTHING!
And the worst part is HE put them back into form. Isnt he meant to be helping the Australians not the Pakistanis?
After our pretty good start with the bat, we lost a few wickets. Which happens in cricket and you need to steady again and concentrate. I always thought Hauritz could bat a bit. But after yesterday I was disgusted, he lost his wicket like he didnt care, didnt care about his integrity or about Australia.
Now, I'm not a good cricketer, i'm far from it, but the thing i do know is that Hauritz cannot bowl, bat or field.
When he plays for Queensland in the ING Cup or Pura Cup he can do what he likes, but when it comes down to represtenting your country with the most dedication and enthusiasm i dont want Nathan Hauritz any where near the Green and Gold.
