Here follows an extract from the SBS site with a bit of a rundown on tonights show. Sounds interesting, and seeing as all you Vic and NSW'ers are an hour ahead.. Can someone watch it for me and tell me if it's worth watching:p
Ironically I picked up Farenheit 911 today from the vid shop and will watch that after Cutting Edge.
Cutting Edge: September 11 Didn't Happen
Tuesday 18th January at 8.30pm
The Cutting Edge documentary September 11 Didn’t Happen, screening on SBS Television on Tuesday, 18 January at 8.30 pm, explores the wild imagination of conspiracy fanatics. The following week, SBS is screening a companion piece, Conspiracy Theories, in Cutting Edge on Tuesday, 25 January at 8.30 pm.
In his popular book, The Big Lie, French author Thierry Meyssan exposed an extremely fanciful theory on September 11. Proceeding from this actual best-seller and from books of the same kind published in Germany, the reporters in September 11 Didn’t Happen lead investigations into conspiracy claims.
These books have had devastating effects in their home countries. In Germany, for example, one person out of five thinks that the government itself was involved in the attacks. Also in Germany, reporters meet Thierry Meyssan’s publisher, Frenchman Pierre Krebs, who is president of an extreme right pagan sect, called the “Thule Seminar”. In Egypt, reporters hear about a persistent rumour that the four thousand Jews who worked in the World Trade Centre had apparently been told not to go to their workplace on the day of the attacks. Also in Egypt, reporters collected an amazing testimony from Montasser Al Zayad, an advocate of jihad and friend of the number two in Al Qaida. His testimony definitely shatters conspiracy theories.
