After reading a good article (lions.com.au of course!) about the Finals titled Finals Focus, I am convinced the Dogs can make the 8.
Here's my rundown of the teams they can take over.
7 – SYDNEY – 11-9 – 113.8
Face St Kilda and Bris Lions at Gabba. Would need to lost both and have Dogs win both to make it, but it isn't that far out of the question. Sydney are in a slump and could easily lose to St Kilda this week, and we all know Bris can't lose up here!
8 – ADELAIDE – 11-9 – 103.1
Have Hawthorn this week but Freo in the last week and you wouldn't think they would lose to them. But if Hawthorn FLOG them and you have sizeable wins against Port and Melb, you could take their spot.
9 – COLLINGWOOD – 10-10 – 109.1
Not much chance against Carlton and Kangaroos. Would need to produce 2 brilliant efforts to make it.
10 - W/BULLDOGS – 10-10 – 97.0
The most likely thing to happen is St Kilda beat Sydney this week, then Bris Lions beat them in the last week. The Dogs have Port (in Melb should win) and Melbourne. Win both and you will be up there!
The Lions and Dogs may have a fierce rivalry, but they are probably my 2nd team. You blokes have a BRILLIANT coach I think.
Currently at $8 - 1 to make the Finals, I think I might put some $$$ on it, because if they win as well as St Kilda this week they'll be down to about 2 to 1. Same thing happened with Adelaide, from 2.50 to 1 down to 1.16 to 1 after they beat the Kangas.
