After reading the post on the Australian Football League board about Lloyd Takin a Dive I've been thinking, we should write one about someone else. So that leaves just one thing, who to write it about and what song i should write it to. Any ideas???

Insert sarcastic comment here.

Seriously dude, get over it. Feel free to write nasty songs about people, but doing it as vengeance is merely giving the whole thing status. It's a joke. Take it as one.

Correct, if it was a rescent thing about Lloyd then fine but its over 2 years old now. Let these newbie clowns enjoy it, as they say simple things entertain simple minds. Lloyd is the best full forward in the comp, simple as that. These losers going on about diving CRAP, let them enjoy it as much as we enjoy screaming the man's name when the ball is in the air going to him and he takes it on the chest.

I think it's payback enough watching the knob jockey's continually take the ******** out of him, yet secretly they all wish he was on their side (as much as they try and deny it) because he is clearly the best full forward in the AFL and will still be for many years to come...

Small minds are easily amused.

Payback is sitting back and watching the man kick 8 to beat whatever second-rate side they support.

No one is denying he hasn't or still dosn't "dive", but the way he is under valued by the AFL community because of it is clearly over hyped and exagerated. He has improved greatly from the earlier years of the late 90s when it was becoming a bit of a routine for him, there havn't been many times in the last few years he has received "charity goals" because of it. Have the umpires woken up to it or has he just improved his game? That's up to you to decide.

But we'll move on I suppose, as Stealth Bomber said the payback for the criticism and ridicule usually comes in the form of when those second rate supporters of the second rate teams usually have to suffer watching him kicking bags against them in winning sides.

There are other players who dive and there have been players in the past who dove. But Lloyd has somehow become the poster child, for whatever reason. Probably because he's so visible and because of his ability, which cannot be questioned.

I don't see the need for it myself. I don't think anyone does.

You could send it to EFC or better still copy and paste it and send it to the AFL Footy Show and Sam's Mailbag. It will embarrass those who posted it in the first place.

Matty's diving does annoy me all the time but his record speaks for itself.

nobody in the football world has any doubts about the fact that LLoyd continually takes dives trying for free kicks , after all we all have eyes . however nobody in the football world doubts his ability as a footballer , he has great hands and footy instinct he is a brilliant kick for goal and yes the best full forward going around at the moment ..he has the runs on the board .
but his antics in diving and added together with his sly sniping type tactics against opponents has other supporters totally alienated toward him which is a pity because he should be remembered as a superstar .

lack of acting skills

Come on have you seen him in the Hall Of Fame add? Acting Genius i say.

Honestly though, it does get rather frustrating seeing him try to act when its so obvious he cant.

That add has got to be one of the most annoying ive seen.

Still.. A great player :p

You go on like he's the only player to stage for free kicks, sorry to say he ain't the only one. Every player just about stages for frees it's up to the umpire to decide whether it's there or not. Also i don't blame Lloyd for diving on occasions considering half the time his opponents hands are in his back and him getting a free kick for "in the back" is a rarity. So he can dive all he wants for I care, throw the grass up, take 10 minutes then do a backflip just as long as he kicks goals.

Under skilled defenders often use dirty tactics to stop Lloyd from thrashing them and the umpires miss (or ignore) a lot of it. If Lloyd manages to stooge the umps by taking the occasional dive, who cares? That said, he's a much better and more damaging player when he's on his feet.

Do what you want Lloydy, no one seems to complain when youve got 3-4 players on you does it? Whatching the geelong v essendon game from 2003 and for the 1st quarter he had 4 players on him, name me another player who would demand and respect 4 opponents? Who? Saturday night Fevola? That drunk gehrig? Neitz the other drunk? Give me a break!

Much like Silvagni and his clinging on antics. How he got away with it for years is beyond everyone.

Bull********! Bull********! Bull********! Don't have much more to say about that. LLoyds a one dimensional forward who plays one position better than anyone else in the game. Take him away from FF and hes nothing. Cant even play CHF properly. Hirdys a champ in every sense of the word and is the greatest player I have ever had the pleasure of watching down at Essendon. Will be remebered by who?? You??

Matthew Lloyd is only half way through his career and has already kicked more goals for Essendon than any other player. He has played at CHF with success, but why would we move him away from the goal square. Just because he plays at full-forward doesn't mean he only has one dimension.
He kicks goals from leads, pack marks, crumbs, creates space for team-mates, is incredibly quick by hand and brings others into the game.

James Hird is an all time great, I find it hard to seperate him Madden and Watson, but that's just personal opinion (although I don't think I'm alone).

I believe Lloyd will get better and the gap between him and Hird will close, we are yet to see Lloyd at his best.
