View Full Version : Will Buckley ever hold the cup?
It was so disappointing losing 2 Grand Finals in a row especially for the fact that all Bucks needs is a premiership medallion to have won the most medals ever in the history of AFL/VFL.
So is it possible for the pies to do it this year?

Well, two highly intelligent replies from opposition fans, and once a gain a Pies fan puts up a question inviting ridicule from all and sundry...will we never learn

I am quietly confident that 2005 could be the last piece of the puzzle for our very own Nathan Buckley. I have seen the boys traing on a number of times so far in 2005 and I must say they seem really hungry for success. Watch out for the Black and White in 05 folkes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, he might hold up the 1990 cup and possibly one day the cup we win when he is about 50. Come on, this team is close to pathetic and I'm predicting another bottom 4 finish. You've got to be realistic.

I don't think Bucks will get his Premiership.
Just my opinion of course.

I think he might of missed his chance - 02,03.
I think sometimes we focus too much on Bucks, the pressure on him to "hold the cup" is enormous and frankly IMO ridiculous. I think it has become a detriment to both himself and the team that we "rely" on him to be our Saviour so much.
This is partly why I think he has held onto the Captaincy a couple of years too long.

i would say he would only have 2 seasons left to do so if not in the 05 06 season he will miss out

Not a chance!! The Blues will have the cup far quicker than the Pies, we are on the up, and the Pies are on the slide once again.

Relax I am sure he won a Premiership with the Port Adelaide Magpies, that should be adequate for the ultimate " I " player. Went to Brisbane and then to Collingwood to play in Premierships. FOOL.

Recruiting players to get you off the bottom and building a premiership list are two entirely different things though. Collingwood will finish higher than Carlton in 2005. I have no doubt about that.

He went to Collingwood like he said he wanted to when he first left Port. He negotiated a contract with the club that had the hold on him before he set foot in the door to get to Collingwood after his first year was completed.

We will ******** on Collingwood, the talent is running out down Pie land, and it makes us Blues laugh.

So you admit we have talent? That's a start!
Next you'll be telling all of the passengers in your taxi that you're an ardent Collingwood supporter!!

No chance of you guys making the 8 this year. It has gotten far too competitive between the better sides which will leave no room for teams like carlton and collingwood and maybe even essendon who are all rebuilding but the time will come soon when these 3 teams will be hard to beat again.

If Collingwood meet Port in a grand final we will win it since Port are our Finals bunnies. Port only won last year because we weren't in the finals to stop them.

We will beat anyone in the grand final.. except Brisbane.lol....yeah like 2002-2003.. at least we had some hope in 2002 but in 2003 when just got smashed all over the ground
If Rocca had of kicked that goal at the end and Tarrant kicked 1 of his 3 shots at goal we would of won the 2002 Grand Final! And also if Akermanis who did nothing in the 02 grand final didnt ********ing close his eyes and kick that goal over his head we would of won!!! But its what might have been........unforunately! The 2003 was absolutely shattering!!! To lose like that i was GUTTED! It was a disgraceful performance by the pies and let down the whole country! To make matters worse it gave Brisbane 3 in a row!!
I can see Collingwood in the finals this year if............Buckley has an injury free year! When Buckley plays well and is on his game so is Collingwood and if he can get through 2005 injury I will defiantly be buying tickets on "that" day in September! :)

The only cup he will ever have had his hands on will be the TS Hill Cup he won in 1992 while playing for the Port Adelaide Magpies, in which he was BOG.
He should come home to increase his chances.

If, but, maybe...
Shoulda, coulda, woulda...
Fact is - we beat arguably the greatest team in the history of the game to win the flag and there's nothing you can do to change that.
If Buckley wants to play in a premiership team, he's gonna have to chase glory, a concept not entirely foreign to Nafan.
