Is any one else going to watch Peel's last game tomorrow.

In the years that they have been in the comp I've never actually seen them play live so we thought we had better go tomorrow. (living near Midland Mandurah is a bloody long way away)

Lets hope they don't get the boot, but it appears that they may because of the self interest, pig headedness and general stupidity of the WAFC and they other eight clubs. Lets just hope it dosent end up in the courts.

Does any one know if Peel was considered in the Crawford report?? Apparently it is to be released some time next week. (as per Adrain Barich so it may not be true)

As a distant (and admittedly un-informed) observer of WA Footy can I say that this is a tragedy.

Surely de-centralisation and the establishment of teams in the vast regional areas of WA had to be the way forward for the local game ?

cheers:( :( :(

Balip - I've only seen Peel play live once and that was about 4 years ago. Unfortunately I can't make it to see them play tomorrow but I hope that they do get up for a win.

According to Barich, the Crawford report is due out on Monday (not sure if the public can read/hear about it then) and that the Crawford report definately does contain information about Peel Thunder and the recommendation that they should remain in the competition.

I'm looking at this from the outside looking in, but this looks like a stupid move by the WAFC, no wonder the game in WA is in such bad shape.

Mandurah or the Peel Thunder, is the future of the WAFL, not Perth or Swan Districts or any other of the old WAFL teams, this makes no sense at all and I hope that Peel really stick it up the WAFC and the WAFL

The WAFL clubs will be cutting off their noses to spite their faces. Peel have one of the larger membership bases despite their lack of success. I was really hoping they'd make the finals so the other clubs would look even stupider and petty for kicking them out. The WAFC have a lot to answer for for allowing the clubs to have this power of veto over Peels future and the pathetic draw that has clubs up in arms over the bye. Expect legal action from Peel, action that the other clubs can ill afford should the Thunder be successful.

Top marks to Peel's coach, Shane Cable for saying that they will be starting pre-season training as usual at the end of the year. It's good that he's got a positive, never-say-die attitude and has thrown his support towards his players.

Just a bit of back ground the the whole situation with Peel;

This is only part of many changes that are coming up soon in the WAFL.
