just thought id let you all know the season is still alive for our vfl side
we were equal on points with 4 teams before this round but we were sitting tenth due to our poor percentage
williamstown sitting in 7th possies lost and so did port melbourne sitting in 9th
so a win tomorrow against nth ballarat at ballarat will see us jump those two sides and probably finish 8th
nth ballarat (peter somervilles side) have been pretty ordinary and we thumped them early in the year so we are a great chance
im not sure how the final 8 works but if its like the old afl system then we will meet werribee in the first weeks, werribee having lost only two games for the season
that being said we are getting a lot of players back, peverill, mahoney back this week
and a full list of senior players to choose from will see some of the boys come back down to the vfl
so a full squad available we should give it a good shake

Coburg were on the same points as Essendon, and better %. Coburg won today by I think 93 points, so they are a game and huge % ahead of Essendon. I think Coburg will be in the 8 after todays results. Essendon have to win by a huge margin to go ahead of Coburg.

before this weekend teams 7 through to 10 were all equal on points
williamstown were 7th, essendon were 10th
williamstown and port melb both lost today and coburg won
coburg more into 7th possie 4 points ahead, leaving willi in 8th, port 9th and essendon 10th with a game in hand
and essendon win tomorrow will see them 4 points ahead of port and willi and move into 8th spot
% wont matter
Phew!
I'm glad it is 5v8, and not 1v8.
If it was Werribee vs Essendon, I wouldn't know who to go for!

That's the problem with this "new" VFL. They should have left it as it was before, i.e. keep the reserves and VFA seperate.
Heard that Moorcroft was booked by a field and boundary umpire against Ballarat today. Could be in a little bit of trouble...marking the end of his season...and one less option for the team.
Blummers kicked 3 goals, and i would expect he and Long to make a welcome return to the seniors on Friday night against Richmond.
By the way...Dons won by 11pts...wrapping up 8th spot. :D
